Anyone know the story behind corumba? Doing a grow with them right now and was wondering if they are just brazils with a fancy name or if someone here or there isolated them and ifso who?

Yes. It's how they is, and strongly suspect it's a big part of why they are so potent as well.

I believe the story can be found over at Ralphs. But nothing multi spore is isolated.

so it seems like the majority of people say a cube is a cube but i've tried redboy, creeper, Gt. SAT and some that i didn't grow so i dont know the name. So far redboys have had the most "mindfuck" but grew very well, however South African Transkei had no "mindfuck" at all, it was a positive trip the whole time.... I believe there is a difference in cubes but it might just be environment... what do the more experience trippers think, do you think i would of had the same trip with another cube if i ate them instead of SAT?

But a well isolated strain can limit genetic differences... at least over several generations. It could lead to more consistant Multisopre results.
Most likely though, it is vendor hype. No offence Ralph.

I meant if the spores were from an isolate taken from a certain Brazilian fruit. People have to get so technical...

Strains are real, IME. Cube potency tends to much the same (excepting PE, which seems not-cube-like on several phenotype characteristics, though it crosses with regular cubes). But mutations do happen, you can send the genes through a choke-point of some kind and get new characteristics.
I had this happen with a Ps. cyanescens strain that suffered heat shock in my incubator. Although it almost croaked, it recovered, but afterwards it was a different cultivar for growth - didn't require cold temps to initiate fruiting, grew nicely and fruited on straight grain (didn't need to be transferred to wood chips). It retained its potency but changed it's habits. I grew that strain for several years at least and it was by far my favorite. This was like 17 years ago, but having soaked spores from prints I've had in the fridge since then I've gotten good germination and hope to see that strain around again. And I want to repeat the "accident" as an experiment with controlled conditions but I've yet to obtain a solid cyan print to start with.
Natural choke-points in the wild could lead to strains that exhibit changed phenotypes and stable characteristics. <<Theory>>

Hollow stems could be genetics, but most likely if you fruit at lower temps they will not be as hollow.

I fruit right at about 75f and most of my mushies are damn near solid all the way through. Sometimes I get a pithy center.

i received prints of x7x from several cultivators. the spores looks dirty pink when fresh, after some days loose humidity and looks dark purple. i have few prints of the original cultures, some of them have the dirty pink color, others not.

I received an x7x awhile back, the guy I received it from said the spores were pink. I haven't opened the print to check yet, as I have enough stuff going on right now. The guy is a reputable member here and I have no reason to doubt him. Once the trait is stable, it will be very exciting, I'm looking forward to working with these spores.
