About an hour, give or take. You can always smoke more to prolong the effects.

I've been thinking about planting some climbing vines on trellises over my front window. Was thinking sweet peas or morning glories.
A couple varieties of passion flowers would be pretty killer, too, though.

Yes you can. I suggest mixing it with some mullein first, it will make it much easier to work with. A joint of passionflower is fairly pleasant and mild. The herb itself is mild, but relaxing. I like to mix it with other herbs to add flavor and synergistic effects.
Some other common herbs you can find to smoke: Albizia julibrissin (silk tree) bark. The bark is easy to peel off from the new growth. It's an invasive tree in a lot of areas. Lactucaria virosa and serriola. You tear back a leaf bit by bit. As you do so little milky droplets will form. This milky fluid is called lactucarium. It's comparable in consistency to opium, and can be smoked. Of course it's more mild, but has sedative effects. Clean off a finger to collect the milky droplets. Then scrape the milky residue onto a clean blade from your finger. You can keep doing this to each leaf by small increments to increase your yield and decrease the amount of plant you have to damage. Verbascum thapsus, which is mullein. You hear me talking about it a lot. It's great for making smoking blends because the ground up leaves have a lot of body to them (they're fluffy). It also has almost no flavor so it doesn't change the taste of your blends too much. It grows all over the place and is incredibly easy to identify, so learn what it looks like and keep an eye out.
