Mycellium transfer?
    #1670462 - 06/29/03 12:47 AM (13 years, 5 months ago)

ok i'm somewhat of a newbie on the major technicals stuff, while at the same time afoaf of mine is growing right now. but i was thinking....just tell me if it's possible or not, but is it possible, like under a flow hood or something, but before you case your colonized jars, to chip off a piece of your cake and put it in the middle of a previously prepared jar that is about 1/2-3/4 full of the same un-colonized substrate, then set that jar aside to colonize.......? would that chip of colonized cake, that's sitting inside the new substrate jar, continue to spread/colonize?

if you don't fully get what i'm trying to ask, just ask to clarify on certain parts. but i was thinkin, and this would be a great idea if possible.

sounds like you are talking about a grain master tek of sorts. This is basically when an extrodinarily bright animal colonizes a jar of grain, then uses this jar to inocc several more jars. This tek can go about 4 levels before the myc starts to degrade but in a perfect world this animal could make endless jars from a single grain of rye.

In short... break off several smaller pieces instead of just one and shake to jar to distribute, hope for the best. On the other hand, fruit your cake, get a print or two and go with the method that you already have going.

The above statement has been a figment of my imagination. Niether the statement nor the writer is real, we are both fiction & should not be taken seriously in any way

That G2G method looks sick, but is there any downside to it? You could get some seriously deep substrate that way without too much effort.
