hey, i had this book "stupid white men" by michael moore, and he has this chapter about all the fucked up things Clinton did in office. i was just wondering if somebody could send me a link about these things, a list of what they were, anything please? the book online would be pretty nifty too, if anybody knows where it is :-)

Clinton leaned so far left it's amazing he could even walk.
Anything he did that was even remotely right was for one person only. Bill Clinton.

In hindsight he was a gret president. Our economy hasen't been that good since the fifties and he kept our nation pretty much at peace. Compare this to GW Bush, who has been an utter disaster and want to take away all our freedom.

i totally agree that he has done good things. but he is a politician. and i read something about the things he didnt make public. shit that you just wouldn't expect him to do at all, and the general public never found out. Of course, Michael Moore could have been grossly mistaken, but I'm just wondering what it was that Clinton supposedly did :-)

Clinton is commendable due to the fact that yes, he kept our nation at peace. I dont feel he was evil. Bush for some reason makes me feel like he is up to something, and doesn't care for human rights or lives.
But thats just me

I can remember feeling pretty angry about some of Clinton's policies. I agree with you all that GWB has been a disaster, but if we do vote a dem in , what then? Are we deluded to think things will drastically improve? I think so. The democrats preserve us better in our state of limbo, while the republicans sometimes like to stamp on the back of our heads. In a way their politics are just more brutally honest (pun intended.) Does this imply a death knell for progressivism? Depends whether you're ready to say "we're fucked, walk away" or not ... which is an tough call if you have any humanism in you.

If you vote in a dem that is "strong on national security" who supports the PATRIOT Act then it will be the same. If the dem nominee is strongly opposed to the PATRIOT Act and the freedom destroying policies of GW Bush than I'll vote for them simply to stop Bush, not because I like them. This is one reason I voted for Dennis Kucinich in the internet primary, even though he's a gun banner.

That's the thing now. The war on terrorism is another issue that will separate the democrats. I'm sure there are a lot of blind democrats out there that will see a nominee that is against the patriot act and war on terrorism as a weak president. It not only separates democrats just like the war on drugs, but if the democrat that wins the primary is against the war on terrorism, then all of the pro-war on terrorism people will vote for the republicans. It's kind of early to tell if the war on terrorism will slowly go away or if it will perpetuate itself like the war on drugs. I guess it depends on advertising and brainwashing. Just another campaign. For all that you know, in 10 years, there will be an anti-anti-terrorism party, just like the greens, recieving 1.4% of the votes and any other candidate from other parties that wants to be taken serious to get votes has to say he is for the war on terrorism. I hope it doesn't happen that way.
If someone writes a book in a 100 years called "America: The Rise of Fascism," You'd see the Department of Homeland Security and the Patriot Act in the first chapter.

Under every republican president, my moms tax returns were only a couple hundred dollars. Under Clinton, she got almost every cent she paid in taxes back. Now with Bush, its about half of what she received while Clinton was president. That pretty much sums it up huh?

It's called taxes, I'm surprised you never heard of them, or tax returns. I haven't gone to college yet, I start in November. What makes you think I don't know how to spell education?

What a surprise you replied to the wrong poster.
The point was since you missed it, is that it was her money to begin with.
Clinton gave you nothing that wasn't already hers.
And while I'm sure you know how to spell education, you obviously know nothing about taxes.
No-one GAVE you anything.
They returned what they shouldn't have taken to begin with.
Good luck in college. You'll need it seeing as taxes are beyond your grasp.
