Bush's Credibility Gap

Read this, and then tell me why you'd still vote for him in the next election.

Because he's FAR better than the other choices.

That's no answer. Why would you even support a party whose figurehead is a doublefaced liar (as this site shows)?

It's an answer... just not one you like.

I do.

See if you can follow along. All the announced candidates are known liars and / or weasels. Knowing that... I will cast my vote for the least offensive. That would be the man currently in office.

I've said here before that I wish there were better choices. Until there are.... I'll vote for the one least likely to cause problems.

OK, let's do a Dean / Bush comparison. What problems exactly do you believe that Dean would cause? What would Bush do better? Where is the record of Dean's chain of lies as bad as the one cited for Bush?

As a side note, I don't know if you're familiar with moveon.org, but Dean just won a landslide victory today in this week's MoveOn.org PAC vote. Here's more information about MoveOn:

"In most presidential primary processes, pundits, pollsters and wealthy donors determine the outcome long before the actual primaries. By the time the rest of us cast our ballots, the nomination is typically a done deal. The MoveOn.org PAC primary allowed hundreds of thousands of voters to speak out now.

On June 24th and 25th, 2003 we held an online vote to help our members express their preferences among the current field of Democratic candidates. This vote also served to determine if there was consensus among MoveOn members for a candidate endorsement for the 2004 presidential contest. In just a little over 48 hours, 317,647 members voted, making this vote larger than both the New Hampshire Democratic primary and Iowa caucuses combined.

Check this out! Do a Google search for "list of Bush's accomplishments". I just did it, and I went through the first 40 hits, and only found one single list of positive accomplishments, which was from someone who posted it to a bulletin board. And that list was bogus (e.g. the world is a safer place).

Edit: All the other hits were lists of Bush lies, lists of Bush non-accomplishments, etc.

Can any of the righties help me out here? What has Bush done for our country other than make it a greater terrorist target?

Actually it's not that I was thinking about it, I just had other things going on..

Tax cuts.
Restoring Republican control of the senate.
restoring a sense of decency to the Oval Office.
Cut Federal funding to libraries, and other programs that the Feds shouldn't be into.
Pulled out of Kyoto.
Withdrew from anti-ballistic missle treaty.
Ok'd more oil leases.
and a bunch more that "lefties" find fault with.

Where did you see me say anything along those lines.

Funny you don't mention him deciding for himself how long his records should be sealed so nothing comes back to haunt him. Why do I suspect if Bush had done the same you'd be having a fit?

At least put a little effort into it.
