natedawgnow said: Not quite on the plant, but here is a caterpillar starting a cocoon on the trellis of one of my passion flower vines. I am really excited as this is the first one to take up a home here!

I will make sure to update this as it progresses towards becoming a beautiful butterfly or moth. If I had to guess, I would say it is a Agraulis species of butterfly because of the fact that they feed solely on passion flower vines

Just wanted to show you what you'll get after it erupts from it's cocoon. It's a beautiful butterfly with amazing silver spots under the wings and I love seeing them nearly everyday out here
Honestly I was talking to my father the other day and he told me that these butterflies weren't here when he was young. He said he hadn't seen them in mass as they are now until about 6 years ago even though the passion flower is the state flower up in TN

I have only been on the site maybe 5 times on a computer, only use my old Iphone. I hear they're working on a mobile version, kinda excited to see it but also I've gotten used to using the phone so much the way it is I'm not sure. Not much for change, I was 30 before I ever broke down and got a cell lol.

A Pinguicula primuliflora I have growing on live sphagnum on a rock. It's a carnivorous butterwort that has caught quite a few fungus gnats and springtails.

Agraulis vanillae on Passiflora quadrangularis
One egg, and one caterpillar that just hatched and is eating the egg casing before chowing down on the Passiflora leaves/tendrils
