Yeah you need a new camera.

Looks like Vespa crabro. They're supposed to have a more northern distribution, but they're reaching the south...

Saw another mantis today on a sunflower.

She seemed to be focused on something.

As she moved closer, I saw what she was after. A stinkbug.

Closer.

Closer.

Closer.

And then dinner flew away..... She was too slow. I was kinda let down, as I bet she was.

I woulldn't want to see this, if I was a tiny little bug.

Saw this today when they fell out of one of my Pawpaw trees nearly right on top of me and luckily my camera wasn't far away
It's some type of wasp attacking and stinging a cicada.
Here's probably a hobo spider on my large peace lilly.
Sorry guys he was very hard to get into focus but here is a walking stick bug on the same peace lily nearly right beside that spider above
Here is a grasshopper on my milk weed surrounded by seed pods.
And finally here is another grasshopper on one of my rubber trees

Your Wasp is one of the largest species of wasp known as a "Cicada Killer" Sphecius speciosus. What's weird is only just the other day,I had one near my front door that had a big old cicada in it's clutches as well, but I didn't snap the pic because there were no plants involved

Saw my mantis friend again today. This is the one that doesn't mind being petted. She moved up to the sunflowers by the deck. Easy to drink beer/tea and watch her work. She is fat and/or ready to lay eggs, by the looks of her.

I feel like she is cheating by just sitting near a flower and eating what ever comes close. Kinda cherry picking.

Close-up.

Then she saw some ants.

Mmmmmm. Ants.

And some more.

Wow. That hornet's stinger looks like a freaking nail! I'd hate to get stung by that!

Found this guy's put for the day. Til night comes.

And I'll try and be around guys. It's gonna get better. I've always been told "one door closes and another opens". And my plants still have a home.

What the heck is that? A moth of some sort? That's quite the camo!
I'm a firm believer in 'one door closes and another opens'. Hang in there. At least the plants still have a place to stay until you get someplace.
Here's some sort of snooter beetle (that's what I've been calling it) hanging out on one of my P. alba

It's some sort of weevil, and I think that long proboscis is there for no good reason. Call me insensitive, but I would kill that beast on sight, sorry...
EDIT: just looked around and found you're probably OK with it. See here.
Anyway, this nice looking fella showed up this weekend. It took some searching, but I eventually found it's an ant-lion of the genus Neuroleon. The larvae and their pit-traps are a common sight, but I had never seen an adult this big, it was more than 3" in length! Shown here posing on top of a Thelocactus bicolor for added sexyness.

My geez! That thing looks pretty tough! Especially terrifying if you are an ant!
We've got those around here, but I've never actually seen one... just their little death pits they make.
PS-thanks for the ID on the weevil. After posting the pic, I got to thinking about that long snout and started picturing it just piercing the leaves and sucking out juices... But the insect was gone when I went back to remove it...

Took some pics a couple of days ago and even though they're not on plants I think they'll fit in well here
I caught these 2 stick bugs banging on my porch and since I've never seen this before and these bugs aren't around like they used to be around here I snapped a bunch of pics from different angles

Yea there's no way that can be pleasant or comfortable
These bugs used to be everywhere around here but over the last 3 to 4 years they've become very hard to find in the garden
