Black caterpillar on a sunflower blossom.

Woolly bugger(?) and a spider on a sunflower.

Fly on Pachanoi.

Bumble bee and another pollinator on a sunflower.

Mating bugs on sunflower.

Wasp on sunflower leaf.

Box turtle, which I know isn't a bug, but it is standing on plants. This turtle had zero fucks to give. I was mowing a few feet away from it. Didn't even flinch when I was mowing or taking its picture.

Pipevine swallowtail on a sunflower.

Pipevine swallowtail on a sunfower.

Wasp on a forever plant flower.

Wasp on a forever plant flower.

Two wasps on a forever plant flower.

This bug seemed to be stuck in the forever plant flower. Not sure what it was doing? Laying eggs, or something?

Some sort of angry looking caterpillars devouring my volunteer Passion Flower vines!
:ohgodpleaseno:

And some huge grasshopper/locust thing on one of my Dagga plants

One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree.
'Which road do I take?' she asked.
'Where do you want to go?' was his response.
'I don't know', Alice answered.
'Then', said the cat, 'it doesn't matter.'

Your  caterpillar is a  Gulf Fritillary caterpillar, and the only food source they consume in the world is passion flowers, and nothing else.
It is poisonous to some degree too.

Well.... they all got flicked off into the woods.... They'll have to find themselves another passion flower to munch on!

Praying mantis on a male pumpkin flower.

Praying mantis on male pumpkin flower, with remnants of lunch showing.

I couldn't resist.

Closeup.

About 5 minutes later, I noticed another praying mantis on a comfrey leaf.

Praying mantis on comfrey leaf closeup.

She wasn't as friendly as the first one. Wouldn't let me get close and kept trying to hide.

Bumble bee on a sunflower, covered in pollen.

Lady bug on a purple flower.

Thanks for the compliments. I had the day off and was drinking some tea on the deck, when I noticed the mantis on the piss pumpkin vine.

I'm using a 6 year old DSLR with a kit lens. It's been dropped more than a few times and the focus isn't as crisp as it used to be. I have to take lots of shots to get one that I think is good enough and crisp. I would like to upgrade, but ain't making the money I used to. I may get a new lens someday, but I've been saying that for years now.
