They are from last July. It's nice to see the sun. Won't be long before everything is growing again.

No photo but I have a redback living amongst my cacti collection, mainly posting this as a reminder to remove it and any others before I put them in my girls van for the upcoming move.

it's a scopulicola, originally from a nursery called Hamiltons which supplies a number of our hardware stores in Australia. It's nice when they pop up as those stores often don't have any/many trichs.

What a badass spider!!! Looks huge!
-------------------- One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. 'Which road do I take?' she asked. 'Where do you want to go?' was his response. 'I don't know', Alice answered. 'Then', said the cat, 'it doesn't matter.'

I saw a beautiful 1+ foot bridgessi at bunnings the other day from Hamiltons, Really nice specimen but I couldn't do the $60 dollars for it. I also got my scopulicola there

Well I've seen more ladybirds so far in the last fortnight year all of last year! Whilst changing some glazing in the greenhouse they kept nearly being trod on, so I helped them inside. At the end of last year a few mites found there way in, but soon went dormant without causing any trouble. As the days are warming up they are coming out of their dormancy, and evidently I hadn't removed all of them, much to this ladybirds delight. Ladybirds secrete a toxin to warn off predators, do they also use this to neutralise prey? It had rounded up a bunch of them and kept them in place for quite a while.

I wish my greenhouse wasn't so f****** hot. Then again, maybe this early in the spring it won't kill the ladybirds. I must try to shanghai some and enslave them as pest killers. >:)

Yeah they have been out and about in my garden too. Almost every year when my citrus tree is putting on new growth, the aphids appear and try to ravage my garden. But the ladybugs go out in full force too. I haven't had a really bad aphid infestation in years. They seem to do a good job of keeping them in check.
