how long does it take for fresh shrooms to rot? and what does a rotted shroom look like? the reason why i ask is because AFOAF has these fresh shrooms for a week and they look like theyre bruising but im afraid that the blackish/blue could be rotting.

They start rotting right away. You should refridgerate them or dry them.

It is more the smell than the look for rotting shrooms. They smell like a septic tank... very rank... something you wont miss, and would have to force yourself to eat. They also tend to get slimey and start to turn black, especially on the inside of the stems...
It takes fresh picked shrooms about two days in my environment, just sitting out, before this happens. It takes about a week inside the fridge for the same to happen.

The shrooms I have picked recently turned dark blue/black after drying, and it's not rot. I have sniffed it a good number or times to make sure, and there's no distinct smell of rankness, or rotting. No sign of mold either.
So, if your shrooms smell rotten (a smell other than that mushroomy smell) and show signs of mold or breakdown, then I'd bin them.
