Has your WBS ever smelt like cooked dog shit? I soaked mine for roughly 36 hours with gypsum and took the lid off and my god it was the worst smell ever. I simmered it for 10min and my whole house smelt like shit. Iv prepped grains this same way but only for 24hrs. Anyone have similar experiences?

A long soak can lead to weird smells, it's not unusual. Simmer and strain as usual, should be just fine.

Nope. Don't soak that long. I just soak for 18 hours, quick boil & toss in the strainer.
I know some users really have a problem with the smell of cooking grains, but I love beer. & the smell of cooking grains smells like the brewery on brew day.

Weird, I'm with the grain lovers... mine smells like I'm cooking 20# of hot cereal. I'm constantly looking for maple syrup when it's simmering.

cuz, mycelium, like bitches, loves cherries. I'm kidding. But for that price, I'd buy the cherry flavoured WBS, too.

Might want to try leaving the lid off, and a 36 hour soak shouldn't need to be simmered.
