Fruiting off the under side of a casing
    #1665452 - 06/26/03 09:01 PM (13 years, 8 months ago)

I was wondering if anyone has attempted to fruit from the underside of there casing? Purely theoretic, but was wondering if there would be any advantages/disadvantages to turning your casing upside down after a few flushes? I found that the top of some casing can get pretty ratty after a couple of flushes, and can develop patches of dead mycelium that hinder fruiting. I thought exposing the fresh untouched mycelium at the bottom of a casing could prove beneficial....could be well wrong though!!

Any thoughts..............?????
Has anyone done this..........?????

Thanks,

vfx

Just put one in a clear container...mushrooms grow all over the sides and bottom.

Yes... That can be done. Turn your casing upside down and case it again with some sterile substrate (nutrient or non-nutrient...). And just behave like you have just cased some material..... (incubate, chold shock and rebirth....)
