Totally beside the point. Anyway, you're lurking when you're not posting.

So then how do you argue with them?

i've noticed that people with diploid's mindset are wont to lose interest in psychedelics after a while. i guess there's no point stirring the mind when you're set on naturalism/materialism. but this is just as much a faith position as any.

If I had to hazard a guess as to who has the most active mind I don't think I'd be guessing you.

i think your guess is mistaken. are not young minds more active than their elder counterparts?

edit: "to the effect" implies that your statements are relevant only to your interpretation of my words. i in fact know very little about diploid himself's drug habits other than that he enjoys methamphetamine. i was speaking from my observations of like-minded people. it wouldn't surprise me if he gave them up. but all the same, it wouldn't surprise me if he still does them.

Are young minds always more active? Links please.  Second question. Does being most active equate with higher intelligence, logic, wisdom?

i don't know. i don't have any links to provide you. i was speaking in generalities.

no, although i would contend that there is a correlation. i will say that it seems to "equate" to—or at least facilitate—higher levels of creativity, which is what i'm most about.

Well I don't know you well but I do know Diploid pretty well. First off he's likely about the smartest guy I ever met as far as pure intelligence goes.  Considering all the shit he's involved with outside of here I'd say creativity is very high.

However like most here he's an emotional basket case.

then it's highly improbable he's involved in the type of creativity i'm talking about.

edit: so far as i can tell, i've met smarter. i guess that's what happens when you attend an elite academic institution. it does tend to suck away your soul, but i said fuck that.

Lets here all about this so called creativity you possess and how you retain a soul that the rest of us have lost cause we certainly don't believe we have one. :satansmoking:

i guess that's what happens when you attend an elite academic institution.

You know, you like to say that a lot. I've counted at least a half dozen times since you got here. You attended a "top 10 philosophy program at a top elite university". Give it a rest. It reads like inferiority complex overcompensating.

Then you come here and make sophomoric fallacies like appeals to authority left and right. What, you were absent the day they covered that? I'd go get my money back.

People just crack me up sometimes. :rofl2:

4) We need a smaller, less-intrusive government.

let's hear***

i write and play music. my band recently won our university's spring music festival's battle of the bands, which had contestants from across the city. we opened for some big names: wiz khalifa, mutemath, sleigh bells, fitz and the tantrums.

i also write; you know, like a writer. you can check out my blog if you want, there's a link to it on my profile. it's mostly just philosophical essays as of right now. i intend to write books at some point, either philosophy or fiction.

i retained my soul by judging that the materialistic paradigm is in error. i'm not claiming to have "the answers," though as of right now i trend towards monistic idealism in my mind–body views. you can check out why i think what i do elsewhere on the forum or on my blog.

I see nothing really special there.  Most people have creativity of some similar type. I can make similar claims and so could Diploid.  I play music, I paint, I make primitive bows and arrows and such using primitive methods, I taught Non Classical Wing Chun in Seattle. I'm a very proficient gardener and cook. I'm a very good dog trainer and rehabilitate abused dogs. (takes a very creative approach)  So I'm creative.  Isn't just about everyone?

i'm not trying to compete with you. anybody who gives a damn about creativity recognizes it isn't a contest. i'm talking about the production of Art.

I've no intentions on digging back into this, but wow, it's gone pretty far left field. Perhaps debating opinional degrees of creativity is unrelated? ... to just about everything?

If you're so sure, there's no point in responding to any of your self-validating partial logic. Have a nice day of sticking to your guns.

Great, another example of a poster who makes a bunch of claims and then whines about it when he's challenged and refuses to substantiate anything.

We could probably do without more of this bullshit.

Since we're on a psychedelic forum, perhaps it's appropriate to respond that you've not done DMT, or taken enough mushrooms at a time. These mediums are not the soul path to these experiences (or else they'd just be insanity-inducers) but they definitely are a sure-fire way anyone can do it every time.

Holy shit this is retarded. Go away.

Calling sentiments you don't agree with or like retarded, and telling the speaker to go away?

Maybe that's some "bullshit" "we" could also do without.
