Trichocereus bridgesii monstrose crest

Had a beautiful specimen about 10 inches wide that got black rot, had to emergency graft a couple of small pieces and only one pulled through.

My first flower from seed! :awesome: It should open fully tomorrow!

Looks like HAKUUN asterias might be flowering soon as well. Could be just another pup, but it looks different for now. I'll know soon enough. It would be awesome to cross those two!

:whoah: Nice shot.  There's a total of 4 different astros on there or is there an extra one in the back?

On a side note the parafilm came in today so I'm going to have fun with it for the first time in a couple more hours.

I'm interested in giving parafilm a try too, I there's apparently a university medical department store in my area that sells it.

There's a small A. fissuratus in the back. It's kinda struggling, unlike the astros, I might regraft it. And 5 astros, I think they're all visible in the previous posts.
Good luck with the parafilm! I suggest cutting a thin strip, just wide enough to cover the scion and the wound, pre stretching it, and stretching it tightly around the scion and stock. When you get into it, areole grafting becomes much easier than regular grafting, especially for seedlings, because you don't have to align the tiny vascular dot with rings, entire areole is covered with vascular connections.

Nice one.  You should post that in the tricho growers thread since not everyone from there will see it in this thread.  I hope to see updates on that as it matures.

3 new grafts today!

My Penis cactus(unsure what it really is, i was told it was active) threw off a pup, so i decided to cut it off!

And a loph had two buttons growing on it, so they got chopped too!

All 3 are under pseudo humidity domes(jars).
Im hoping for the best!

Finally got too big for my Opuntia rootstock. We had somee strong winds yesterday that folded the base pad of the rootstock in half. I'll stake it up and root that little piece of remaining rootstock.

It was only one day away from the anniversary of it's first signs of growth.

Thanks mate.

The seeds came from a few different sources. There are a few in there from a euro seller of mixed hybrid (jap) seeds, some straight capricorne and also a few myriostigma from parents with different coloured flowers and nudums. Sadly non are from my plants but hopefully that will change this season

Cheers
