Too lite print
    #1664402 - 06/26/03 02:14 PM (13 years, 5 months ago)

I have a very light print and would like to germinate spores from it or germinate it itself. Is there a way to grow mycelium from the print? Can I germinate from very few spores? I have tried petri dish/ager. Should I learn more about petri/ager and try it again?

How long did you let the spores drop? Try putting the cap down, under a upside down jar or bowl, for about 48 hours. You may get another , more dark print. Or do you have another cap to get a print from?

I believe a 1/4" X 1/4" fleck of spores will be sufficient for a syringe, maybe put all the spores you can into the syringe?

As everyone here knows, as psilocybe spores are for microscopy use only, psilocybe spores are microscopic. Even a very light print will have millions of viable spores. Each capable of growing mycelium.

There are some that will say that only the very darkest spore solutions are good which is far from truth. A clear diluted spore solution is just as good as a very dark spore solution. Using more spores only wastes more spores.

You can dilute your print with water and use as you would any other spore syringe or prepare a mycelium culture.

I didn't say they were psilocybe spores.

I don't believe all spores are illegal to germinate. Shiitake spores are not illegal when germinated.

i beleive she was saying her info regarding how to prepare syringes work for any spore. not that any spores are illegal.
