I'm almost 19, i'm a happy father and i don't want to have another child, i read through this thread http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/16333428/fpart/1/vc/1
And it didn't seem to have the op posting back with results. Do you think there's a chance i can get it done if i explain that i have poor impulse control and have already gotten close to a second pregnancy. On top of this my gf has stated she would opt for an abortion if it happened again because we're happy with one child. All the birth controls shes tried have had bad side effects btw so that's not an option and ime condoms are only good in theory.
So do you think there's a chance i can get it done? Im in Australia btw if it makes any difference or if any other Australians have shared this situation.

I didn't read the thread you posted... cause It's morning and I'm lazy.
I know in New York ( from what I've heard ) that you can only get an vasectomy in a few cases...
-You are over 25 -You have had 3 kids OR -Mental illness.
You can get diagnosed Bi-Polar pretty easy, which doctors usually include promiscuity in it. Then you show the hospital you are a bi-polar little whore, and get clipped.
I'm getting a vasectomy pretty soon. I'm 21 with a newborn, and me and my girl are both done. Though I'm trying to convince her to get her tubes tied, for the simple fact that a man is awake for his procedure, and I'm having a hard time getting passed that.

Dude, if you get snipped your old lady MUST get snipped too!
Fair is Fair and I would have a problem if my mate didn't do the same thing.

Idk if it's still true or not but I heard that it's safer and easier for a male to get a vasectomy.

If you got local anesthetic wouldn't it be like the dentist? The pain being discomfort and the rest being in your head? However I wouldn't know the feeling and from what i know there's still alot of tenderness for you to consider. Im totally for it though and i mean its nowhere near bi-polar but i have been given an ADHD diagnosis. I doubt that'd give me any chance of getting in on the last case (mental illness). I dont want to bring another kid into this world for its sake and mine, im happy in life now and i wanna ''lock it in''.

Because for a guy its like getting a tooth pulled and for a woman its like getting actual surgery. Making your woman get tied is for chauvinists and pussies

Considering she gave birth to our daughter and the vasectomy's a healthier option I feel its up to me. Why is every guy I mention this to so afraid?

In case you were wondering..
...looks like the procedure would only take 20 mins. Had no idea it was like that.

I just recently read about a male contraceptive gel that they're testing in human trials right now. I don't know the timeline before it hits the market but it's not permanent or invasive like vasectomy, and it's effective enough to replace condoms as a contraceptive, though a prophylactic is still a good idea to avoid getting any STIs.

Maybe some people are just afraid of dentist and vasectomy's in life. I Think that its kinda crazy they can convince the women to do it though.

I also think I've heard somewhere that there's a higher likelihood of infection and sepsis with the vasectomy procedure. I don't know how true this is though, but I know one thing: You don't want any kind of infection in your junk. If your body doesn't respond to sepsis treatment then it's chop-chop time if you catch my drift.

I don't think its even been submitted for review in the U.S. This means it's probably years, if not a decade away.
