Well, I think I might have made a mistake when innoculating my cakes today. Trying to get the hang of handling the syringe, I accidently squirted much much more spore liquid into my jar then was recommended by the PF tek. This happened in about 2-3 jars or so before I finally thought I knew what was doing. What is the possible impact of this on colonization?

the impact will be as stated above: they will colonize faster

Um...probably 1/2 CC to a entire CC in *one* hole in the lid, and then I proceeded to accidently do the same thing to the other holes.  Grrr...finally about the 4th jar I had a feel for what I was doing and did like the tek suggested.

If you put a very large amount in, then it might retard the growth or possibly even stop it. This will be due to the fact that there might be too high of a moisture content. Too much moisture=favorable conditions for contaminants
hope it turns out alright

actually that is not entirely accurate. If the substrate was already quite wet 4CC might cause pooling in the jar. Free standing water is a big no-no in this case.
I don't work with pf-tek so I am not sure what kind of leeway you have with moisture content, but from working with grain/agar i can tell you that water content is one of the most important factors in determining how fast/well your substrate is going to be colonized.

Well, I didn't notice any pooling at all in the jars so maybe I'm still good. It just looks damp or moist inside. Agh...learning experience I guess.

If you see any pooling turn the jar over and let the moisture run into the verm layer. Not wise but it will save you in a pinch.
