I've been looking for the audio book of Timothy Leary's autobiography Flashbacks forever. I once saw it in a book store, but someone had stolen the tape out of the case. And then there was a website selling CDs of it for some ridiculous amount. I didn't buy that. Today I decided to see if maybe it had finally made its way to the internet. It did! Click here. I've listened to a little of it so far and it's awesome. Read by Tim himself. So download that and enjoy it.

Thanks. I need something new to fall asleep to. Insomnia has been killing me lately and audiobooks seem to do the trick for some reason. Probably depletes my concentration and doesn't get me energetic like music does.

I hope you guys enjoy it. I'm going to listen to it in full of course, but right now I'm just skipping around. I had to make sure I listened to his account of his prison escape. It has me on the edge of my seat. I feel nervous. I would have been a complete mess, if that had been me. Very exciting. Maybe not something you could fall asleep to. Stangely enough, the book ends once he hits the ground outside the prison. As if the story was over at that point.

I'll probably give it a listen on my next road trip.

I don't really fall asleep to it per say, but it gets me distracted enough to become tired. Then I turn it off and start where I left off the next time.
p. s. that playboy article was hilarious.

You definitely should. I'm looking for an excuse to sit down and listen to the whole thing myself. The ending was a bit of a disappointment, since he ends it at the moment where his feet touch the ground outside the prison. As I said, I was on the edge of my seat. There was SO much more to tell. I wanted to hear all about how he got out of the country and moved from place to place, all while on the run from the US government. I guess I need to read his book Fugitive Philosopher all about his time on the run. I'll bet that one is extremely exciting. Too bad he didn't make an audio book of that one. I've been such a lazy ass when it comes to reading.
Having said that, I'm equally as excited to hear Leary's account of his times at Millbrook on Flashbacks.
