Producing Mycellium in liquid
    #1659411 - 06/24/03 06:52 PM (20 years, 9 months ago)

I have some left over syringes from last summer and I wanted to see if they might have some life left in them. I don't want to go the whole route of creating the substrate and jars if theses syringes contain dead spores. I remember last summer I read about a method of injecting the spores into (sterile)honey water, then I also heard of injecting them into water with Caro Syrup is a better method. Can anyone give me any suggessions on this technique?
Thanks in advance

That explains the technique, I've heard it works really well.

This link explains my adaptation of the sugar-water teks, using an optimized amine buffer/sugar mixture for archival of live mycelium, taken from research into industrial mycology. The process is called brothing.
