That blue syringe sounds killer. I couldnt even see anything in a syringe I saw at a museum once.

i was making agar plate with a potato recipe...PDA i was doing just the same as was writing here on forums...i clone a oyster mushroom....but i get just a litle colonization after 17 days:(. I dont now what i am doing wrong:(. after 17 days i see colonization , but its not complitly pure white color.Is thet normal?what i am doing wrong?:(

when you say "allowing for gas exchange" what does this mean? and mine jars are not in darkness but instead out of direct sunlight is this bad?

during incubation<after inoculation> your jars still need to 'breathe'....."allowing for gas exchange" means you have a method of allowing for air exchange, usually a hole in your jar lid, with a type of filter to prevent contaminants from entering<coffee filter,polyfill,and many other options> and also during incubation, they need to be in a dark place, e.g. inside a dark closet,or a trash bag. but those questions and many more can be answered in the tek section, or with the search function. <---still a newb, correct me if im wrong

When I pressure cook my PDA agar. after its cool down a night I see a white spot on the agar surface. What is it ?
