Things suck now, a lot worse than they did 4 years ago.  Period.  Obama is the man runnng things.  Period.

Along the same line of thought regarding what geokills was getting at:

It really pisses me off when people say "he'll do better in his second term".

I just want to start pounding dicks in the dirt.

Four years wasn't enough? Come the fuck on.

-The problem is, you are running on what you think Romney MIGHT do, or how he might be, and ignoring what Obama has said and done.

Obama has a proven record.  It sucks.  The problem isn't really even his crap ass statist attitude.  It's that he is fucking incompetent.

I'm out of this thread for good.  No need to respond because I'm not reading the ignorance.

I know sure as shit I don't want to vote for Romney but I REALLY don't want to vote for Obama.

So... where does that leave me?

Not voting and being "that guy", voting for the lesser of two evils and being "that guy"...?

I don't want Obama in office anymore.

Presidents are public servants not gods. Funny how people put these guys on pedestals. They're no better than anyone else. I'd trust my money with the meth heads ten miles west of me than I would with the Obama administration.

Back in 2008 or whatever I was a Ron Paul supporter.

so you jumped from one extreme to the other, do you still support what ron paul stands for?

I still agree with him on certain things, particularly civil liberties. However, I do not think that the government should be as small as he wants. I completely agree with eliminating ineffective bureaucracy bullshit and reforming a lot of government departments but he wants to eliminate many of them completely. I think we would get a stern kick in the face from greedy people taking advantage of the lack of oversight and regulation if he got his way.

big government means ineffective bureaucracy, we have on the federal level,
the FBI, CIA, NSA, ATF, DEA, ICE, IRS the Treasury and Homeland Security in
terms of law enforcement, dont you see a bit of redundancy? let's look at
congress and how they operate, some drugs were outlawed, weed and coke for
instance, well they then made it illegal to smuggle drugs into the country
even though it's a given that trafficking would be classed as illegal
because the drugs are but that wasnt enough, VP Joe Biden when he was a
senator decided we needed a law that made it illegal to smuggle drugs into
the country by submarine

oversight is a problem now, it's always been a problem but that problem
like many things is inherent to big wasteful governments, if you want to
change things, remove the twats in congress and vote NO for president
since your presidential vote doesnt count for dick

That would be true if state law and local policy were dominant over federal law.  But they are not...

nah lesser or two evils (Obama) if Obama doesn't take bigger chances this term in trying to improve this country, then hopefully Gary Johnson runs again. and RIP Ron Paul

if i vote for someone else it would be Gary Johnson

Some things are just very hard for some people to understand.

...though if they are stated clearly enough, some come around, sometimes.

This is a great example:

"Is it really true that political self-interest is nobler somehow
than economic self-interest.

You know, I think you're taking a lot of things for granted"

There is iron in your words of truth Kanos.

Yeah, this isn't the political forum but people who browse that forum aren't the only ones that should vote.

You can put your thread wherever you damn want, but isn't that statement kind of equivalent to "this isn't an area where people understand politics, or even know much about the politicians they are voting for, but I don't think people who understand the politicians they are voting for should be the only ones that should vote"?

If I mis interpreted, then I am wrong. But wherever you post this, I hope you've kept up with the discussion in political discussion. If there is one thing that blows my mind, it's a person who votes for a president to control an entire federal system, just for one policy he supports, without knowing anything else about him, or what the other politicians are doing. If you only want to vote for someone for your local settings, and not in regards to an entire country that you may move to another state and see the same federal policies effecting you, then why not vote for just governor and mayor and local senators and politicians and commissioners and what not?

Please, Obama and Romney are BOTH evil, the choice is as clear as the difference between the emperor of Japan in 1940 and Hitler. And if you want to throw G B in there he could be Stalin but he's gone now. Do you only believe the two party system exists? Do you understand there are other people to vote for?

so you don't plan to vote for someone that will actually matter, just someone who will vote out the guy you don't like? I don't know if that sounds ignorance...................... but think about it for a minute
