Thats what I did and I started crying tears of joy. I just wish I could enjoy my bad moods more.

Mine were just considered a secondary symptom. When I finally landed myself in a therapist's office I think they diagnosed me with about a million things while I just sat there half-nodding in dreamlike disbelief. But probably the worst one was DID. The way they explained it, and let's just say my name is Agnes, the reason I can't remember most of my childhood or how I got certain scars and other random things is because I'm not really Agnes. I was created to protect Agnes because she was so traumatized that she went nuts. I'm just like a placeholder, and apparently if therapy ever cures Agnes then I'll just cease to exist, because I'm not real and won't be needed anymore. So allegedly Agnes gives me panic attacks when something triggers her, while I'm enjoying my stay while it lasts. Sounds totally insane, but that's basically how they described it to me, just put in my own words. So in a way I guess refusing to take xanax and such and just riding out anxiety is my way of trying to reattach us instead of shooting her with a tranquilizer dart. But as far as I've ever heard and read, most people seem to experience panic attacks the same way.

So you're like Ed Norton in Fight Club?
Sorry to hear you have these problems. I don't really have any (I don't think) I just get panic attacks sometimes.

Never seen the movie so I'm not sure hehe. I don't really know what to make of it. I'm naturally more inclined to believe it's at least half overly zealous psychologists' mumbojumbo, but it sure is a weird feeling.
I've had friends throughout a couple jobs though that had panic attacks, too. The first post reminded me of one of our pervert ideas to just think about how we feel when we masturbate (heart rate, sweating, breathing, etc) and just try to equate it to that. Was kind of funny, but I did have a coworker report that it worked lol.

Alright I'll add it to my list lol.
Yeah Idunno. They diagnosed me with soooo much shit it felt absurd. And then they started explaining to me shit like I wasn't real and that I was a fake personality and geezuz it was nuts. I like to believe that I just had a shitty childhood and a few issues but that I'll be fine, my mind or whatever will work its shit out when it's ready. I see the therapist every other week, and we spend most of the session talking about her issues anyway LOL.
But alright I'll check out this movie.

that's a great idea! has helped me deal with my anxiety for sure, just to change your perspective on it. learning to perhaps enjoy the fear and ride it like a wave, as we do when we watch a horror flick
