Why are they doing this?
    #1654552 - 06/22/03 10:11 PM (13 years, 5 months ago)

Ok, I have a s***** webcam, so there are no pics, but why do all of my foaf's little buddies curl over or lay down? Not a shroom in there has grown straight and tall yet. They all get about 3-4 in. long and fall over. Any suggestions on how to grow them to look like mushies and not curly fries?
P.S. Potency is not an issue, they're really good, just looking for better form.

Sounds like a lighting problem.

Neither cake nor casing has produced a straight one. The lighting is accomplished by a hole cut in the lid of a rubbermaid with a 2 ft. growbulb in a blacklight fixture setting over top shining in. The RH stays at 95-100% for the cakes and 83 - 86% for the casings. The mushies start growing tall, then they keel over before the cap matures and they mature on their sides. I've had huge mushies, just the stems are really weak, some have a small spot of hollow in the middle, but not all of them.
