So today went to hunt some semilanceta from a field we found last year in southern Estonia. 1:30 hours of hunting and got 44.22g wet. It started heavy raining so we went home. Pics:

Nice one, Joozz!
Things have finally started to pick up in my area as well. My sweet spot that presented me with only a couple of fruits less than two weeks ago, has at last become decent again. 160 picked in about 40 minutes today, some of them quite huge as well. Weather was perfect for hunting, but the massive amounts of rain lately have left a lot of them quite waterlogged - at least in the lower part of the field.
Not so sure about this, growing side by side, the smaller one is a liberty cap. Huge one could possibly be something else? Stem was rather fragile, but then again it was in the lower area of a field that was absolutely soaked.
Some of the landscape. None of these photos show the actual field where I picked most of my haul, although it seems like there is no field in this area without liberty caps. The good spot is kind of sheltered, but I bet I'd increase my result if I dared venture around in the more accessible areas. Perhaps a very early Sunday morning might be appropriate.

Wow amazing... Makes me want to visit and go hunting! Beautiful landscape. Keep it up!!!

Very nice Joozz! I'm also in Estonia and would have started this thread again like I did last year but someone beat me to it
My ability to get out to the really great fields is limited, but in my two outings here in Tallinn I have found close to 200 so far - if it keeps up this way I'll beat last year for sure. We had a pretty wet summer so as long as the temps stay decent we might be in for a great season.
Shit thing is pretty much all of my fields will have houses on them within a few years. I have a few spots in mind for some transplanting and ghetto-tek grows though... just need to find the time.
Nice to see more Estonian hunters at the Shroomery!
Cheers and great finds everyone.

Jerk! hehe - wow, envious. Can't complain much though on my two short hunts I almost bagged as many as last year. Keep up the good work!

Oh and that one you have a question about is certainly a lib ( or strictipes) - they can get really big and go flat like that. I've found a few huge mothers this season.

Yeah I found quite a few huge ones, however these were growing in flatter areas which also were quite soaked after the rains.
The specimen in question resembles a Psilocybe at least, but the fragile stem made me wonder. Of course, heavily waterlogged.
Thanks for the input, hope you get to those fields before they're overturned! My best fields are fortunately not likely to be turned into residential areas, at least not in my lifetime. They are old farmlands which go way back into late medieval times, perhaps even older. They are considered worth protecting as cultural heritage.

From last week. Only 60 libs, not a big catch. But it was at a new location, perhaps I'm going back to the mother load pastures tomorrow. Depends on the weather.
Angler: Could be a strictipes, but noone can tell for sure only from looking at it, it takes a microscope and some skills.
Nice photos. I don't like to go hunting when the grass is that wet, dark brown caps are harder to spot in the grass.

Beautiful pictures, everyone! In just one week's time I will go home to my old house and look around in the pastures there, I haven't had time to look for libs for three weeks. I'm really looking forward to it

240g wet today. Went back to the habitat where I found ~750 a few weeks ago.
Found two libs that had merged caps.
Also found three psilocybe with very flat caps, perhaps p. strictipes?

Wow, very very cool finds! I love the siamese twin. You gonna consume or preserve? I'd twitch my mind over such a dilemma.
Those flat cap specimens are interesting, how broad are the caps? I occasionally see flat capped libs in some of my spots, although few and far between. Many of them are quite smallish as well, but it's instantly obvious Psilocybe.
I take it you probably got a haul equal to last time out? I know the feeling, especially when you come home and lay them out to dry. Takes some space too. I lay mine in parallell lines head-to-toe, to keep more space between the moist caps. I put them on empty wooden book shelves. Wood seems good for drying mushrooms.

I'm going to extract at least 1000 in water with ascorbic acid, do several pulls, cook it down to a black glueliek dough, form small capsule sized balls and leave it to dry for a long time, . My goal is to get an end product that isn't sticky. Then I don't have to use gelatine caps like the last time I made a big batch.
The flat caps was the same size as libs. They became blue, so it's libs or another active species for sure.
I'm using a DIY drying machine. A computer fan in the lid of a box blowing out, with air intake in the bottom of the sides, and a net in the middle to lay the mushrooms on. I have to use this with large harvests. They rot if they are laid to dry like on my photos and I havn't got enough pizza boxes
I think it's less then last time. about 500-600... And that is still huge!

I've seen those flat one's, the gills seem less crowded than usual, maybe it's just how they're spread. They've always looked odd to me. Nice freak !

Great finds, have you considered that the libs growing through the dung might just have had mycelium in that spot and a cow happenned to dropa turd right there? Maybe they would have appeared whether there was dung or not.
Very inspiring and great hunting you guys are doing.
Loving the landscapes magic.

I think this photo shows that it grows from dung and not through. http://img560.imageshack.us/img560/2994/toppispbajs1.jpg
Of course, there might have been mycelium in the ground colonizing the dung falling on top of it, it's hard to rule out that possibility.

I found a lib growing off a fir cone last year, the cone was in a patch of sedge grass though so it was most likely the mycelium just spread from the rotten grass and it ended up fruiting on the cone that happened to be there. In only a couple of forays this year i have managed to pretty much tie with haul from last year.

Hey all you hunters and visionaries! You guys are rockin' it this season. I'm hoping to get out there soon but I've been out of commission for a while. Just finished 26 weeks of Hep C chemo. It kicked my ass! Anyway I'm hoping to get a couple of hunts in before the end of the season.
Happy Hunting! And may your boots stay poop free!

Some pictures from today's morning foray:
Some more from the old heap of dung:
I could have roamed this area for hours, if it wasn't for a sudden shower of heavy rain forcing me to retire. This season is an extremely wet one, it hasn't ceased raining since September 1st...
