You're not kidding about the photo quality.

The ones in the first 2 photos could maybe be Amanitas, but we'll never know because you cut off the stems. For identification we need to see the stem bases on many kinds of mushrooms.

The red one looks like maybe a Russula, but as out-of-focus as it is I can't really tell.

On the others I can't see enough to even guess what they might be.

Perhaps you should try writing a description. Check the instructions in the topmost sticky thread in the forum.

Happy mushrooming!

As it says in the description of the forum...

Quote:

Remember that unidentified mushrooms should never be consumed, as consumption of certain mushrooms can result in death.

You can probably expect a few flames from some of the people here who are less diplomatic than I am.

If you want to commit suicide, there aren't many ways that are worse, or less likely to succeed. On the positive side, eating a random mushroom is unlikely to kill you. On the negative side, there's a reasonable chance that you can get sick enough that you'll wish you could die so it would stop.

According to your description, the browns ones were "found on logs near creek." The description you've give us so far isn't terrible for Galerina autumnalis, a deadly poisonous mushroom. On the positive side, your photos don't look like any of those I've ever seen. Did you get a spore print? If not, get one - right away! And pray that it doesn't come out a rusty brown color.

In the meantime, you might want to consider vomiting. The delay between consumption and the nausea and vomiting symptoms for amatoxins is 8-24 hours. Unfortunately, by the time you start puking, you've already absorbed the toxins, and the puking doesn't do you any good.

On second thought, I just checked the time you posted your "i ate a little of the mid sized brown ones" comment. It's already too late for vomiting to do you any good. In fact, if you left now for the emergency room, it's probably even too late to have your stomach pumped.

If you feel sick within the next 24-48 hours, seek immediate medical attention. Do not hesitate to mention your consumption of wild mushrooms to the doctor. If possible, take specimens of what you ate with you. They will contact a Poison Center and get a local mycologist to identify the specimens. It's not against the law to eat deadly mushrooms, just stupid. The death rate for these toxins if you are not treated is anywhere from 50% to 90%, depending on how much you ate. With treatment, survival rates are up around 90% or better, again depending on how much you ate. If death occurs, it is primarily due to liver failure, not a good way to go.

Good luck.

In the morning, let us know if you've gotten sick. I will hope that you don't. Let us know again after 24 hours or so.

Please don't do stupid things like eat mushrooms you find in the wild until you know exactly what kind they are and can describe to somebody else exactly how you know.

Again, good luck.

Hmmm... Something in my profile must have changed without my noticing.

It's still less that 2 hours since your "i ate them comment".

Get to puking!

If you can get all of it out of your stomach you can reduce the possibility of a dangerous poisoning to near zero.

If you don't have ipecac in your house, a big glass of milk with several spoons of salt will also do the trick.

Whether you decide to follow this advice or not, good luck.

And please don't ever eat an unidentified mushroom again.

ToxicMan, is it possible that what he found could be Inocybes?
In my guides it says that they are mycorrhizal so I don't think they're Inocybes, but hey, ya never know. That umbo made me think Inocybe.

Either way, I'd definately start with the puking. Galerina and Inocybes can both be deadly. You made a very bad decision in eating those unidentified mushrooms. It could cost you your liver or your life.

By the way, registering 2 user names is not allowed at The Shroomery. I can guarantee that one of your names, if not both of them will be banned.

Yeah,

I bet that this happens more often in the state of Florida than anywhere else on the entire planet.

I don't know why this happens so much in Florida.

I don't know why this is like this.

Keep on shroomin, If you dare,
