Summer Time Blues

Hello! Ok. I am bored so I felt like getting a few peoples opinions. I will be a college senior next fall. I haven't slept with a girl since high school and haven't been in any relationships while in college. There have been girls that I have wanted to be intimate with but I usually end up turning into the friend. I suppose women don't take me seriously. I am an introvert, usually anti-social but not depressed. I can keep my head up and breathe. So it never really bothered me too much that I wasn't dating. School was too busy and every summer I would do something new and fun. This is the first summer that I have stayed near campus. Home for me is across the country so I am pretty stuck here. Plus I have a summer job at a restaurant and its been fun smoking pot and not thinking about things. Nice change of pace. Anyway, back to the situation. There is this girl who I work with. We have begun to hang out now and then and whenever we do hang out I get this overwhelming joy. It's not an infatuation but more of a peaceful, bright feeling that she gives to me. It's something about her eyes. They're like blackholes that suck you right in. We had one good night the other night. I feel good around her. I just don't know if she feels good around me. I hope to get something more than a friend. Rejection is something that terrifys me. IN the past my girlfriends and I would just gravitate towards one another under strange, but normal circumstances. I was never a hunter. I can't tell the difference between a person being a nice person and a person who wants something from another person, in a good way.

Be brave be bold, watch a movie that gives you energy to be someone who does what he needs to do to get what he wants.
And then tell her you like her.

Just ask her one day on a whim. Hey, I was wondering are you tickilish? Then she smile or get weirded out or both. This could lead to other things....

Well I'm gonna raise a fuss And I'm gonna raise a holler About workin' all summer Just tryin' to earn a dollar Well, I went to my boss Who governs me He said, "No, dice, bud You gotta work late"
Sometime I wonder What I'm gonnna do There ain't no cure For the summertime blues
Well, my mom and papa told me Now you better earn some money If one of you is gonna go Ridin' next Sunday Well, I didn't go to work I told my boss I was sick He said, "You can't use the car 'Cause you didn't work a lick"
Sometime I wonder What I'm gonnna do There ain't no cure For the summertime blues
Gonna save two weeks Gonna have a fine vacation Gonna take my problem To the United Nations Well, I went to my congressman He sent me back a note It said, "I''d like to help you, hon But you're too young to vote"
Sometime I wonder What I'm gonnna do There ain't no cure For the summertime blues
Now there ain't no cure For the summertime blues Now there ain't no cure For the summertime blues

The look. It's the most important factor in determining whether or not she likes you. Sounds like you have it my friend. Flirt with her and see if she flirts back. If so, just go for it, she would want you to. Use subtle touching, if she likes you, she'll let you know.
How to avoid just being just a friend: Talk to her, let her know how good of a person you are. Then for a little bit just ignore her. It will make HER want you more, and if she's into you it will be quite clear. If she's hot she'll probably use the same trick on you. It can really fuck with your head sometimes.
Good luck man.

are all of the people that are responding guys??? heres advice from a woman whho knows,,,ask her to take lunch break with you sometime, and buy her lunch...even if it is off the dollar menu and if this goes over well..give her a day or 2 to think about you...if she smiles at you next time you see her..dont fear the rejection just ask her to go to a show with you, or take her to icecream.....everyone loves icecream mmmmmmmm

thanks goldenlocks! Actually we went on an ice-cream mission a week ago. Every time I hang out with her it's been good times. And she gives that smile. I sometimes feel inadaquate at times, usually around other guys at work. LIke I said, I'm no hunting fox. I'm being too pessismistic on myslef, but not pessisimistic enough to let a moment such as her slip by. Cute, nerdy potheads like her are difficult to find. Most girls at my school spend their nights showing their skin at bad rich frat parties.
anyhow - it's nice to hear a response from a woman and I thank you

An update. I work with this girl 4 days a week. I don't go back to work until tuesday and won't see her for another week after that. She's going on a small vacation for 3 days. Would it be too much to call her on the phone and ask her out? This would be the first time I would have initiated something outside of the excuse of work itself.
why are these things so funny and overly-complex when you know they're quite simple. It's that damn mind! You have to beat your mind to keep it in the present.

for sure...the initial fear of rejection is the hardest... so call her on her cell as long as you are pretty sure she wont think you are stalking her or whatever.... otherwise i know id love it if a guy asked me to go out after work...had a fat blunt rolled...and then movies?beach?......

Dood. The best relationships are based off good friendships. Some people think not, but i dunno ... its always worked like that for me. If you are true at heart, and you can get along with her i think good thigns will happen... Some girls may just want to stay friends, but theres that time when they realize that you are thier best friend, you know everythign about them so there is nothing to hide, you have the right answers, and they feel 100% comfortable around you....that you are the one? I dunno it may, or may not work like that but having a strong friendship with someone you care dearly about is not a bad thing my friend.

It sounds to me as yall are hitting it off already, you shouldnt worry yourself about the rejection bit. I never worried about this in my youth, just figured I have everything to lose if I dont go for it and ask the woman out. But, I do understand if you are becoming good friends you dont want to mess that up.
I also believe that the best relationships can stem from good freindships. That is how mine was started, and it is the best thing to happen to me, ever. I plan on keeping this girl around for the rest of my life, whatever it takes. She fits me better than anyone else ever could, and feels the same about me. We have been living together for quite some time now, and have gotten used to each others company. I do not see it changing any time soon, if ever.
I wish you the best of luck!

If you still want a movie to wad up yer courage, try 'Benny and Joon'. It's about freakish introverts in love. Not to spoil it, but it even has a happy ending.
