Could you put your agar plates in a wine cooler to keep them from drying out?

Oh, did you finally opt out of ratings?
Seems like most people use plastic baggies to keep agar dishes from drying out.
-------------------- You make it all possible. Doesn't it feel good?

Yeah, although it was fun having like 1/5, I think it was getting me shitty answers to my questions.
Biggest thing is that I don't want them colonizing the whole plate (they even grow mushrooms right before they die)

I don't have a fridge. I unplugged it because it used up power I was using for other things...

Yeah, I eat out every meal and like like a mile from a store - plus coffee is my #1 drink. Not worth $17 / mo to keep a jar of possibly good mayonnaise and a bottle of vodka chilled.

That's a myth actually. Eating out there is no food spoilage, and you tend to eat better stuff, since your not buying boxes of HoHo's or Cheeze-It's. The trick is to eat like one big meal a day for like $20.
If you just hit up Cici's or China Buffets, you could probably live on $10/day -- personally, I like Applebees.

What are you currently using to wrap your dishes? Saran wrap, parafilm, micropore tape?

Wow. This thread is a mess. Cold temps aren't used to keep plates from drying out. Refrigerators actually dry things out. It is used to keep cultures young by dramatically slowing cell division.
Plates properly wrapped and left at room temp will last months and months.
