Innoculating 1 pint jars!!??

this dude I know couldnt find 1/2 pint jars so he went with the 1 pint jars. His question is if he wanted to innoculate 4 holes on 12 1 pint jars would he use the same amount of spore soultion as he would in a half pint jar? Or would he double it because of the double size of the jar? Would he only get 6 jars per syringe instead of 12? :mushroom2:

don't waste your spores they will germinate just fine...you might even be able to strech it out more say 14-16 jars depending on how dark your syringe is it could even do more :grin:

I agree, 1 pints are great and my friend says you can pretty much just use the same amount as if you were going to use 1/2 pints!

Yeah. You should really look into grain spawn though, a 1 pint jar of PF tek would take a long time to colonize. It took like.... 3 weeks for my "agressive" Lipa Yai's to colonize a 4oz jar, i bet it would take a month plus for something as big as a pint. but with popcorn or something, you could cut it down to like 4 days.

how much honey water should you use to innoculate 1 pint jars?

That depends on the density of your mycellium culture. Just like a spore syringe you don't want to fuck with the water ratios too much by adding too much innoculant.The amounts should be the same though ideally. Liquid culture is VERY fast...I think you'll like the results.
