YAY my first Cubensis in my new town!!!! (NOW WITH PIC)
    #1645002 - 06/19/03 01:50 PM (20 years, 8 months ago)

I found 22 cubies in my new field. Sorry no pics though.

If you all remember I was the one who was asking for some direction in my new town. So I finally found a field with some potential. I had been going to it about every other day for a few weeks and finally it pulled through.

My new field really requires you to HUNT though because it has some real tall grass (a foot high average). And the field is so big that I just search the most likely spots. So I made my normal rounds and bingo I caught me some. And I figure since these are the first of the year that these must be the tip of the iceberg.

The stars of my find were two really tall and strong lookin guys that were in that ideal stage between when the cap opens and when it is flat.

Anyways it was a good day because my field's potential was assured.

I was seeing a bunch of pins everywhere too. They didnt look like cubensis pins ,though I must admit that I dont have much experience in identifying pins.

They were sort of bean shaped and slightly off white.

I went again today and came back with even more.  258 grams in all!

The largest one I found today was a 75.8g monster .  The second largest was 30.3g.  I'm really happy with today's results.  Maybe I can borrow my roommate's camera for pics, but we'll see.
