I think I've got Restless Leg Syndrome.

I haven't slept more than maybe 3 hours in the past three hours and I'm really starting to feel like shit.
I guess I should start off by explaining the symptoms I feel. At night I try to sleep my leg feels like it's burning hot and I have to constantly move it, I can not not move it. I get jerks as well when I'm dozing off.
I'm pretty miserable right now. I quit smoking marijuana about a week and a half ago, so that might be contributing to it, but I've had this hot leg problem for about 6-12 months now. Started sometime after I had leg surgery.
Any suggestions? Getting pretty desperate, gonna try buying a ton of melatonin and stuff.
I've also just been perscribed zoloft and I think it's crappy. Should I get off of it?

There's a really good chance, it's really increased in the past two days and I've only just started taking zoloft. I'm not taking it tonight, gonna switch back to Remeron and call my doctor tomorrow morning and just tell him "I can't do this zoloft crap."
But I've had this issue since I had surgery on my knee. :\ Just not as intense as the past two nights.

I don't know anything about zoloft. I was originally on remeron for a month and that was fine, I just gained about 5lb, so he switched me. I'm throwing this shit out and taking the remeron again. Dunno if I should just switch right back or what though.

perhaps nerve damage from your surgery?
nerve damage is a burning sensation, and my cause involuntary muscle spasms

It doesn't burn, it's more like my leg is overheating. I hope it's not nerve damage... It's more above the surgery in the muscle because I think the muscle hasn't been exercised right.

i had surgery on my hips, 5 inch incision and a metal rod put in both my femurs, that was 2 years ago, i get a numb/fire like feeling around the incision every now and then, the muscle cramps and spasms, it almost itches and burns at the same time, somewhat like a hot feeling, but it coincides with drastic weather and inactivity....
maybe scar tissue? i know if i move the wrong way i get odd sensations in the area of the incision, every now and then when falling asleep i get what i would call electrocuted, my legs tighten up just before falling alseep and my body, legs especially jerk or contract, shit hurts though its not all the time or every night
yours is constant? how long ago was the surgery?
probably the zoloft like others said, that shit is nasty stuff

Stop buying into a diagnosis! Restless leg syndrome, depression, anxiety, etc.. These are all caused by the same thing, which is neglect to your physical or spiritual body. Do weight training 5x a week, cardio or yoga 4x a week, sun gazing, eat an alkaline diet with no sugar, do good things for others, be productive, overcome neg memories from the past, and once you have done all of that consistently for 6-12 months come see me if you are still having issues.
I know this method is harder than swallowing a pill everyday, but it is the better treatment method.
PLEASE Everybody stop taking these psychiatric drugs. You don't need them despite what the docs say! There is another way! In the past, I was prescribed over 35 diff psychiatric drugs and told the same stuff about if I got off things would get worse. Well, I got off and did other things to improve my life and I got better. By taking the drugs made by some of these drug companies you are choosing to cooperate with evil. Ghandi even said that "It is not only important that we do good, but also we must not cooperate with evil". Tap into what and who you are and begin doing what you are here to do and your spirit will stop making your body and mind sick. Until then, expect a slew of symptoms that can have any number of diagnoses slapped on it.
Good luck
