Penningtons Wild bird seed works great. You can buy 10 lbs of it at wal-mart for like 3 bucks.

Any kind should be OK really with the right preparation.. did you soak them first for 1/2 hour or so and then rinse to remove any fungisides that might have been on the seeds? Personally I've yet to find a brand that didn't work..

Fugu, lol.

The link you provided is to a thread where a guy asked if he could use it. Yet, you are telling a person to buy it, and it seems to work. Please present the evidence that shows this seed works...

I always figured most of your problems communicating stemmed from your use of a translator. Now I think your problems stretch farther than this. I think you should reserve yourself to asking questions instead of answering posts, most of them make no sense at all. But you sure do try, lol.

Most of them should say on the bag if it contains fungicides. I dont think mine has a brand name, I just grab the cheapest bag I can find, and it worked for me.

I didn't get that either. Not to knock on you fugu. Penningtons wild bird seed is the tried and true favorite recomended by most people. Go with that, just wash off the coating... it turns to sludge in your jars.

What I don?t understand is why people would use a brand that contains fungicides, if this "Pennington?s" brand does indeed. I would figure that most of the wild bird seed I have came across did not contain any fungicide, as it never says so on the bags. There are multiple brand names, but it is basically the same thing, comprised of mostly white and red millet. Usually all the different brands have varying amounts of sunflower seeds, Niger seeds, corn and sticks (in some cases). Now on the other hand, the more expensive brands that are for specialized birds and have totally different ingredients from box to box, I have read they contain fungicides on the package.

Even if you can wash it off, why use something like this?
Read the package, that's what I always did, and I have used quite a few types before I moved to popcorn.
