I'd paint it with "Killz", its like a white primer that has some kind of anti-mold stuff in it.

Yeah, I was going to use that as the primer actually. I've done that in the past with some really bad rooms. It works great on water stained walls. You can paint right over that stuff.

Emptied out the nesco and my fan box then loaded it up with tray A1, the caps that were printing overnight, and the more mature fruits from tray P2. But since I like suspense, put a pin in that and check out these prints 15 PESA prints just waiting to be used
20 Ecuador prints came out great! This brings a first flush total of 35 Ecuador prints!
And finally, the weigh in
The first load out of the nesco and fan box came in thusly: PESA: 14.7g first load Ecuador: 46.83g first load
Giving us a first load total of 61.5 grams!

Wood On the outside?

And so I watched them, even though I wondered if maybe I hadn't really done it this time, and what they were doing was they were making objects come into existence by singing them into existence."-Terence McKenna Help Me Further My Cube collection

I'm using wood as the frame but using killz and painting over that. I will be fine.

hey DR let me know how you like that little ultra sonic!? i posted a thread about a week ago with a picture of the same one asking if anybody has used it because i was going to get one for my green house but i wasn't sure if it was going to be worth the money.
i settled for a tiny "mist maker" that i got at a lawn & garden store. i just drop that fucker right into my cool mist and it works really good.

I know the update is a bit late, my paranoia kept me up and checking on the greenhouse all night making sure that everything's working properly ::)
These are the timers I picked up at Petsmart, along with a few other goodies. They are zoo-med 15 minute cycle timers.
I plugged the 2 smaller timers into the dedicated outlet side of the power strip with an integrated timer. These timers were very easy to set up and get operational! I have the strip timer set to lights on 8-8, the fan timer for 15 minutes every hour, and for now I have had the ultrasonic on constant while I get to know it better I'll be experimenting with 15 minute intervals after I make another run to the store later today.
I'm using a 12v PC fan with a 12v power supply. I put the tyvek loosely over the fan because the ultrasonic was piping vapor out of it like chimney when I had it on the top shelf, even when the fan was off! I originally tried the ultrasonic on the bottom shelf, but not enough mist rose up, so I put it on the top shelf, not enough mist drifted down. The middle shelf definitely seems like where this device wants to live, which is fine with me since it makes refilling convenient for me. At this time, all shelves are at 90+ RH when the fan is off. At the end of the fan's 15 minute cycle, the greenhouse tends to be in the mid/low 80's RH. I'm thinking that there's a recipe for success here
Now these three prints I've been keeping secret while they dropped They are the 3 biggest, darkest Ecuador prints from the first flush. 1 is earmarked for another member already, 1 is going into my personal reserve, and the last one...I think we'll have to make up a contest for it!

Such a cool setup man! Hopefully within the next year or so I get something similar. Looks successful AND fun. It's really cool that it's pretty self-automated, at least once you get all the settings just right. Very very nice & thanks for sharing with Everyone. PEACE

Ok, I've been testing and found that if I leave the ultrasonic on 24/7, and have the fan on for 15 minutes each hour, at the end of the fan's cycle the RH is at 68%. It takes 15 minutes for the RH to get back up to 85%. I think this setting is going to be ideal since the surface moisture has a good opportunity to evaporate to trigger pins, get replaced by the ultrasonic, and still give a lot of FAE to help prevent contamination.
BTW, tray A2 has AA+ pins

Congrats on your grow!
Aren't you worried about contams landing on your prints leaving them open like that to take pics? Or are they in front of a flow hood or something? I've been super paranoid about that and only uncover them long enough to go straight into a little baggie, and either use a glove box or hot oven to do the transfer.

I also am curious of how when making prints you keep them sterile.. I haven't made any yet but I hopefully will when my first grow is finished. Once you print them, if other spores from the air land on them, is that okay? I would assume you print them in a glovebox and then close them up for safekeeping. I was checking out this tek for sporing to syringe. It's about halfway down.

Considering that the mushrooms were grown in non-sterile air, it's likely that some contaminate spores will be there, but in very limited numbers. That counter also gets very little airflow when I unplug the nesco. I have taken prints before with this method of allowing them to dry in open air after removing the caps, and have had no contamination issues when I used them.

Sounds good to me DeathRyder. I'll have to try that once I get my first fruits (hopefully VERY soon). What tek do you use for getting the spores back into "mycelium-mode". Agar, or straight to syringe...
