Wow, that's early! And I noticed that t1mp5 also found a few in Scotland the other day... The earliest I ever found one was like 19:th July. And I'm further north than you guys.
I was looking for libs today when I was walking to my conocybe field (which also is a great liberty cap habitat), but didn't find any. Rather few mushrooms over all in the forest/fields. I found some chanterelles just beginning to pin, so the mushroom season is just starting.
Happy hunting everyone!

How long stretch of winter do you have in your region?
I am thinking that maybe the mycelium gets the chance to mature earlier there, as opposed to Scandinavia where spring probably comes a bit later.
I was out quite recently, only dung lovers, especially Panaeolus sp. and a few Stropharia. And of course the parks and lawns are starting to get crowded with Panaeolina. I will probably try 500+ meters later this week when I get the time.

this year we just had a month of massive frost that was all, nearly no snow. this could be a reason, also the weather here got muddy very early, we did´nt got a real summer here except of the rest of germany i think xD
and i find nearly not another panaeolus or something like that, mostly libs xD but not a lot.
BIG thanks for all your congrats!
I was a bit lazy with the updates so here are the pictures of my hunt from the past week, first just the same cluster where i left some pins produced some more shrooms, so i could go there 3 times and got enough for a trip.
then, yesterday, we found the first pins in a different location, and today in another more far away. sure not much but definitely something.

Nice work! Haven't been able to check my patches been way too busy - makes me wonder if they are popping up here too - unfortunately on to Canada tomorrow for a month, probably will miss the best this time again

And yesterday a friend and hunting buddy said he found a nice spot while working break we went there and it was full of caps, all hiding under the grass
ah and btw maybe you noticed it, i got a new cam, the pics are much better ^^ hope you enjoy them!

Great pics Fux, and niiiiiice selection!
It's raining heavy here (North England), with a few drier windows later this week. The season here is ramping up, and if we get some decent dry spells, there is gonna be a motherload or 2 just waiting for me...
Happy hunting Fux, and keep us updated!

hey, your posts are very inspiring! I live in Germany too, and I just came back from a walk, but couldn't find any libs. I live near the Sauerland, and I think it's still a tad too warm (and dry) over here. Maybe I have to go up to the higher Sauerland and check there... Are you're spots mainly pastures, or do you prefer wild spots grazed by wild animals? This is my first season of hunting, so I'm an absolute noob. But I did do my homework and read a lot Keep posting your results man!

I was hunting today but found just some Stropharia Semiglobata, very jung fruitbodys, I don't think the season started here, I'll have to wait one or two weeks till they grow hopefully, the found fruitbodys of the S.S. give me hope that this is the right spot to look at.

nice to hear that i inspired you, as you live in the sauerland it should be no problem to find some nice libs, its not far away and it rained much if iam not totally wrong you just have to get in the right habitat i think. I got spots which are just grazed by farm animals but i also got some completely wild spots. Animals are on nearly every field so its not the main factor, its more about finding those old sedge grass fields which are not fertilized. keep up hunting iam sure you will find some soon

stropharia semiglobata are good indicators, i think if you find a few pins of them you also should find some libs soon the season is on i would say.
--------
Went out yesterday to the same spot, as we left so many pins i knew it must have been well but it was just wonderful, mushrooms everywhere, young pins coming in loads
here some pics :
Happy hunting to ya all!
