Is it possible to transfere mycelium from a colonised cake which i bought, onto a new substrate to end up with loadsa cakes.

What sterility would be needed??

Please help...

You could make Mycelium syringes from the colonised cakes and use then on the un-colonised cakes to get lots! Have fun hope u have good luck!

there was something I saw a while back called Lazy MOFO's bag tek...i'll try to find the link...but it involved using myc broken off of one cake and putting it in a bag of sabstrate, letting it colonize, then repeat...the desired effect was youd always have a bag going, and you'd never have to innoc again as long as you were happy with that strain. So, it would work. I'll track down that link.

I have successfully done this once, and had 3 fully colonised cakes out of 4 jars a few months ago
Did it by breaking up a dowel rod (a thin wooden rod), and sticking one piece down the middle of each PF jar before sterilising.
After they cooled I put them in a simple cardboard box "glove box", along with a pair of tweasers and with a cake that hadn't been birthed yet.
After that I opened each jar, pulled out the rod, and used the tweasers to rip bits out of the cake, and shoved them into the hole that was left by the rod.
Within two weeks I had 3 fully colonised jars and one very smelly contaminated one.
I wouldn't recomend doing it.
