Collecting Rums, What do you collect?

I have a friend whose dad has been collecting every type of Absolut Vodka that is made. I often find myself looking the shelf containing all of the bottles and have since decided that I want to collect my own alcohol in a similar manner. I currently collect shot glasses from different places that I have been and thought this could compliment that collection well, but I am having a hard time decided what brand to collect. I plan to just collect one brand's products in order to ensure that there is a finite number of bottles to buy to finish the collection, while the shot glasses are the more infinite collection. However I'm having a hard time decided which brand to choose. I prefer tequilas and rums, but tequilas lack the variety that rums are developing. I think ive narrowed it down to DonQ, Malibu, and Bacardi rums. DonQ seems classier and would look better with my collection, but i have yet to try it and it lacks the variety in flavors. I dont particularly like coconut rums, but Malibu Red is one of my favorite alcohols at the moment. Bacardi seems to have the most available to collect, but I have never been a huge fan of theirs.
Whose products would you collect, DonQ, Malibu, Bacardi, or someone else?
My grandfather passed on to me his stamp collection and coin collection. If ? ever get the chance to learn anything on the matter, maybe ill add to the collection in his honor and pass it onto one of my grandsons.
What does everyone else collect if anything at all?

I would like to collect all different kinds of hennessy . The problem is that it is an expensive collection and I dont know how long I can keep a bottle without the urge to start one up and drink up with some friends .

If you like rum, start keeping a variety of good brands in your bar or liquor cabinet. Invite friends to try unique rums when they come to visit. Learn a few unique rum creations. Our friends love coming over to our place and trying rum.
Currently we have a bottle each of:
Zaya (my wife's fav) Ron Zacapa Solera 23 (my fav) Flor de CaƱa Martinque Clement Dos Maderas PX Rhum Barbancourt 15y (an inferior "premium" imo) The Kraken Bacardi Oakheart Meyers Malibu Appleton Estates
I haven't seen a bottle of Don Q in years... damn i wish a local distributor carried it...... That shit is the best for pina coladas.
We usully have a bottle of 10 Cane on hand for caipirinhas, but apparently not at the moment.

Ron Zacapa Solera 23 is probably the highlight of my rum collection. Figure out a way to justify the 50 dollar price tag and get yourself a bottle.
The Kraken is a pretty good (although very sweet) rum for the collector on a budget.
Rums and Vodkas are my thing as far as alcohol is concerned... although they generally don't survive around me long enough to form into any halfway decent collection.
This video is not me, but damn he's got a nice collection...

dude.... that rum collection is epic!!!
the first bottle he leads off with (Bacardi Reserva Limitada) is the rum that got me hooked on aged sipping rums. My wife brought back a bottle of it from a business trip to Puerto Rico and --WOW-- is it some good stuff!!!! No other rum we've found has come close to it and we made that bottle last!
