2nd flush
    #1640474 - 06/17/03 07:19 PM (20 years, 8 months ago)

A friend doesn't know what they're doing. Supposedly, they got a good first flush on dung cased in coir/verm but there was many MANY more pins that abhorted than matured. So this friend says they think the moisture level inside the substrate is probably depleted. They did recase after scraping and misted heavily. This was less than a week ago -they said. What can this friend expect? Will the substrate likely produce more fruit? Should the substrate be rehydrated somehow? Is the moist casing layer on top enough H2O? I don't know what to say to this friend. I want to be supportive but I don't want to blow smoke up their butt.

Well, since no one seems to know... (uh huh, right).  I told the person to scrape all those supposed abhorts and recase and mist which they did.  I hope that was right.  I dunno , seems like it's inviting contams and those may have been good pins I dunno.  Time will tell now.  The other casings which were scraped and recased still show no signs of life.  I'm a bit worried.  Remisted and fanned.  It's been almost a week.

Those are good words of advice. I gotta calm down. thanks Boss. The abhorts were like centimeters long wet so, yeah they're still around IF I can find 'em.
