A quick Sunday foray * 2
    #16429696 - 06/24/12 08:34 AM (11 years, 7 months ago)

It's been a while since I've made a thread of a hunt so here we go. I haven't managed to get out much this season having started a new job and moved to a new town. This was probably my first proper hunt of the season, however breif it was.

I went out to the Grampians National Park and walked to one of the many waterfalls in the area. It was already getting dark by the time I got there so most of these photos were taken with crazy long exposures (up to 15 seconds).

This was my favourite find of the day. A group of tiny little Hemimycena balancing water droplets on their caps. The were only 1-2mm wide.

These Pholiota multicingulata were everywhere.

This yellow Mycena was growing from a dead tree about head height. I haven't seen anything like this before

A cool little Cortinarius species.

Gymnopilus ferruginosus

A carpet of Coprinellus disseminatus

Marasmius alveolaris

Mycena atrata

Some strange Zygomycete growing from moss (with a Deconica in the background)

And finally a pic of the waterfall at the end of the trail

Great stuff Tim!  Those Hemimycena are really stunning, I would love to find those one day.

Thanks RD. The new job is awesome but the new town kinda sucks. It's a semi-arid area with no forests nearby.
