Got a new cell number today. Destroyed my old phone. I talked to my Paralegal friend and to her, it sounds like they dont have shit on me. She thinks that maybe the s got my plate number leaving a house they were watching. Called me up to see if id bite the worm they cast out.

For a bag you might get some fines and probation. I was caught in Il with 12plants and couple pounds of shake, which they considered smokable, and I got 18 month probation and some fuckn rehab. If you dont have kids, lay low, nothing heavy in your possession and dont answer your phone unless you know the number. If they wanted you, youd be in jail. They have nothing significant. Probably just saw you at the dealer's. They have shit tons of resources to find your number. Again, if they had anything real ( AKA something they knew they could win in court) they would pursue or watch you longer and sting you WITHOUT forwarning. COPS ARE LIARS. BIG FAT STINKING LIARS. EVERYONE OF THEM. PERIOD!

Thats what it sounds like to me too. If they actually had you on anything, particularly a felony, they will not do that. They will haul you in, get you scared, and then offer to let you walk if you flip. They would probably do the old good cop bad cop. Yes, they still do that one. One is fire breathing and determined that you will do the max time. The other thinks you deserve a break and all you have to do to prove it is... you guessed it.
This cop is casting a wide net probably got your plate or someone fingered you but the controlled buy is most likely a bluff. If he tries it on 10 suspects maybe one or two will fall for it.

Not to throw a turd in the punch bowl, but something similar happened to a close friend. They were awaiting lab results from the paper (LSD) , the species of mushroom and indeed that it was marijuana that was the green leafy substance, (noshit). They tried to offer him deals to snitch based on what they knew the lab results would be. Lab results still aren't back and he has no charges.....yet.
These were simply possession beefs. Some cops just don't have their shit together, then some are robocop.

Hmmm...is it possible that one of your associates was popped? Maybe they went through his phone and found an ambiguous name and were trying to fish out your identity or something?

This whole story sounds a bit fishy for it to have been a cop, but it sure does sound like a good way for a wholesaler to determine if he can trust his dealers

That is a possibility. Seems like the level of precaution used by long-term successes in wholesale would make blind surveillance a more effective means of determining trustworthiness. Again, this would be raising the suspicion all around, as it clearly has to the OP in this case.

If they had a controlled buy on you, they would arrest you, and then try to flip you in exchange for dropping charges, atleast thats what they did when I got busted. Told em they could go fuck themselves... If they did have a controlled buy on you you'd know what it was for amount etc because they'd be locking you up. They may however have evidence on you and try to get more by watching you for a bit, so I'd lay real low and make sure your house is squeaky clean in case they come with a warrant. Hope it all works out for you legal problems suck.

I personally don't think it was a cop but I could be wrong.
I've never heard of a cop calling someone over a potential felony. If they had a controlled buy, they could easily get a warrant and just bust down your door if they wanted. I don't think they like to tip people off that they have your name down.... coming in unannounced is something that would either have you in jail or him getting names... not over the phone.

The narcotics team in my area are ruthless. They will do whatever they can to get the things they want. Like i said, i think it was a real officer just trying to scare me into thinking i was actually in trouble to see if i would take the bait. Im going in for a free consultation tomorrow for a lawyer. Hopefully they will straighten things out and it wont cost me too much in the long run.

Cops are allowed to lie to you in an attempt to get you to divulge information. Do not incriminate yourself. The best way to do this is to take the 5th and not talk to the guy at all. He could be making up the thing about the controlled buy to scare you into admitting things that he you think he already knows, even though he really has no evidence.

Yeah, thats too bad. It still sounds crazy as hell. I've never heard of cops operating that way.
