That would be best.

You do not have to, but it will keep much longer under refridgeration.

Bacteria thrives under warm and moist conditions. Keeping your spore solutions in the refrigerator reduces the chances of infection.

What about freezing them....would that be detrimental at all, make them last longer. or not really matter all that much?

Well considering the crystals that would form in the solution as it freezes could easily destroy/damage the spores...I wouldn't chance it. Plus, if you're going to store your spores for an extended period of time...just leave them on the spore print...I always waited til the day before innoculating to actually make my syringes. Let them rehydrate for 24 hours and then good to go.

But does anyone have some first hand knowledge of this? Or just a bunch of speculation?

And I was making a joke; thus the "lol."

Sorry I never froze a syringe...just saying it's better to leave spores on a print for long-term storage.  If nobody else here has experience with the issue, just email a spore vendor and inquire if they store their spores in such a manner.

I never tried to freeze a syringe, but I agree with hawksapprentice that it would introduce some extra risks. Best to keep the syringe(s) in the fridge. They'll be viable for a loooong time. I don't think you would win much if you succeeded to freeze syringes and eliminating the risks connected to freezing.
