Habitat: found this growing in grass under trees at work today mowing, ive seen a lot of these and ive wondered about them and if they were edible.
Gills: White with a slight tint of yellowish on the upper inside
Stem:White, not hollow with more white stuff inside
Cap: Red, faded red, light red.
Bruising: no brusing at all was noticed
Other information: no strong odor, seemed like a pretty durable mushroom, dropped it on the ground and it didnt break apart or anything. Let me know what you experts think, if you need any more info just ask!!! Thanks!!!

I wouldn't eat any red Russulas for fear of accidentally consuming Russula emetica, aka barfaroni russula, aka the vomiter (ok the last nickname is real, I made the other one up)

I was told to taste a tiny piece of the cap with with the tip of your tounge, if it tastes bitter or hot (like black pepper) it is supposedly no good. I have not found any that haven't tasted like this...
