By the way I noticed that some of you guys said you were burning off ticks or putting ethanol or some other solvent on them. Those are all older and no longer recommended practices. The current medical recommendation is to get a gentle hold around the mouth--don't grab at the swollen part--and just pull firmly (but not too firmly) and quickly using tweezers.

My method is a cotton nose

just tie the cotton then pull it tight over the tick,
this grabs it as close to the head as possible
then you pull the tick gently until it lets go
I have always got the entire tick head and all out by doing this

Ideally use a tick removal tool if you have one.

Went yesterday and after the fist bit of long grass found 1 huge bastard crawling slowly up my leg and another 4 smaller ones.  I flicked them all off and don't think any bit me.

It's actually the mouth parts that get stuck in your skin, not the head, but regardless,it sucks when it happens!

That one that was leeched onto my leg I was talking about a page or two back...
I guess his "mouth parts" or whatever the fuck are still in me. I got a red bump that's itchy, similar to a bug bite where he was.
Probably lymes, I'll be dead soon.

I woke up to a deer tick burrowed half way into the tip of my penis this morning. Took me and hour and a half to get the fucker out and made me late for work.

Does anyone know if I'm at risk for getting Lyme again/additional symptoms when I'm still on antibiotics/getting treated for a bite that happened like two weeks ago? Or am I temporarily immune?

you know,I bet I have Lyme and don't even know it.This could be the root of my severe depression and lethargy.I got the bulls eye rash two years ago,and went to a doctor who told me I just had a staff infection, and she gave me antibiotics. It was a clinic for poor people,so I doubt  she was even a real certified doctor:facepalm:

not to be discouraging, but if you DID contract lyme from a bite over two years ago, there's probably not a whole lot that can be done for you, outside of "radical" lyme treatment therapies

i'm not saying you're doomed or there's no chance of recovery, but even after a few months exposure, lyme can set it hard and be difficult for doctor's to treat with regular antibiotics

Man,I've gotten three so far on my penis this season, and they are the worst to get off, because it's so sensitive down there! Also,I doubt I have Lyme, but you never know, and that was actually three years ago that that happened,so if I did catch it there really is no hope for me now, with that much time passing:facepalm:

I walked through miles of tall grass and bushes today.  I took hundreds of mushroom pictures and didn't get a single tick.  Mexico is nice.  I have never seen a tick here.

It was already over half way burrowed in... right on the tip.

For one it's incredibly sensitive down there and for two my eyes can't really get close enough to the area to ensure I got every bit of that tiny little deer tick so I spent a lot of time OCDing over whether or not I got every last bit out.

I told most people I had a tick on "my leg" but most of them probably didn't realize I was referring to my 3rd leg.

:hehehe:
