friend and i found some shrooms

well we randomly found one on the way home from walkin around (i live int he city), and i remember my friend sayin you know if they're cubensis if you can squeeze the stems and they turn purple, so i did that and no luck. well further on down the road we actually found ANOTHER one under a tree. quite small. well i squeezed it's stem and it turned purple. i was like AWESOME, so i tried it again and i turned like 3/4 of the stem purple. so here they are. tell me if it's eddible and what i need to do before i eat it. or just pop it in :laugh:

~ o yeah, the underside of the cap has those vien things or whatever lookin things.

Well it isn't cubensis. Even though it's a bad picture, I think it's some kind of Mycena. Not active, and possibly poisonous.

The white gills(?) should tell you that it couldn't be Psilocybe cubensis. Honestly, that photo is out of focus enough that I can't tell you if there are gills there. The overall stature of that mushroom suggests Collybia, but there's no way to tell from that photo.

If you mistook that mushroom as even possibly being a P. cubensis, then you should spend some more time studying before you consider picking and eating any wild mushroom. People die from eating the wrong mushrooms, and it's not a way you want to die.

First off,

Psilocybian mushrooms do not turn purple. They turn or stain blue to blue-green. dark purple-brow is the color of the spore deposit of Psilocybe cybensis and other Psilocybe species.

i haven't researched picking at all, i just randomly found it and thought it would be a good idea to just ask what it was. i threw it away and yeah, sorry about the bad pics.
