I'm debating whether to go have a look today. Temps are 14 - 19C. I suspect it's a bit early still, but might have a peek anyway.

Success!!!!
I went out looking on a hill near Glasgow, the hill is the view I have from my office everyday when I'm at work. I only really went for the walk, obviously the fact that libs may be out was on my mind a little, but it wasn't the reason I went, I stumbled upon 2, heres the pics of the first and biggest one, the other was a baby. Quite long stems as long grass up there! longer grass means bigger libs in my experience.

Just got a text from a friend to say that he found 80 today after stopping whilst driving back from "Reeth" to the north east England. This won't be bullshit. He reckons he just took a look in a random field and found 80 along side a wall in the space of 10 mins.

It sounds like they are being found a bit more widely in the UK now. I took an early walk today in a spot I've not looked in before this year. This spot is at an altitude of around 700 feet, so could still be described as upland. I saw just a few libs, probably in the region of 10 or fifteen, over the course of a half hour walk, but it does indicate to me that they are starting to spread beyond the very localised early season spots.

Yep!!
At the moment I'm thinking I'm going to go to make the trip down from Glasgow back to the North East next weekend, then to the North Yorkshire dales to pick the newly found field that my friend found. It sounds like it is gonna fruit shuitloads! can't wait to see it in a couple months either. I will post picks on here!

There out in the moors , found a few yesterday at higher altitude , Pins and younger fruit are a bit hard to spot due to there olive colour and the surrounding landscape but with the warmer temps this last week there were a few white caps .
I would still wait a few more weeks before going hunting in my local spots .

Hi First post but this thread made me want to register. Long time lover of psylocibe and more so the older i get. Want to learn more about general edibles as i go but love searching for liberties each season. I am in North Ayrshire on the West Coast so we are blessed with plenty of grazing fields and moorland ideal for shrooms. If anything the only drawback may be the milder conditions with the gulf stream. Anyway, i was sure i spotted some in May this year that has made me keep my eyes opened since. However, over the past week i have visited my favourite spot (250 metres well grazed moorland with plenty of patches of grazed then long grasses). Nothing early in the week (although some other shrooms about) but i had a good look yesterday and only came away with 3 caps. Went to a slightly lower location (200 metres according to my geo tag) that has yeilded for me in the past today and came away with around 40 after an hours searching. Very spread out and only in villages of 3 to 4 max. Usually when i ma here you can find villages (my name for clumps of fruit ;-) of upto 10 at a time. Once you find the vein it can then lead to many other villages and a good harvest.
So i definitely think the season has begun but the temps are still a bit on the high side even though we have had plenty of rain. I will be visiting on/off over the next week or so to see how it goes and will let you know. Have a couple of pics from today but not next to a newspaper so upto you whether you believe me or not....my crop is drying out at the moment ;-)
Thanks for the reports and info.

Welcome to the Shroomery Psyman. I think another couple of weeks will see the season start, night temps are forecast to fall below 10C soon. I'll update this thread if I find any in my usual spot.

Went hunting around the edges of a moor near where I live earlier this morning. Picked up 50. It was raining as I was picking, they seemed to be sprouting there and then!

Yo, Sowerby Bridge isn't too far from where I am really. I'm sure you'd find more if you had a good look
