is this a good hygrometer?

because that's the one I got

it will read 98-100% rh when in my SGFC, will drop to 90-92% when I aim a fan at it(did some test while the cakes were dunking) and will read 30-50% in my room.

I used one of those and they do work but I would invest in a quality battery powered one because those take to long to adjust to show the correct Rh. I use one that had a little dingy attached to a cord so you can place that inside your FC and have the gauge outside your FC. Gives accurate readings in seconds rather than minutes.

(All personal preference)

maybe if I had a greenhouse I would upgrade but if you say they are accurate it'll be fine with me. anyway I just put it in the fc after the first flush to see if there is still any moisture left, and to my great surprise the RH stays high for a long time even if the perlite feels dry.

I was kind of in disbelief when I saw that, that's why I made this post. everytime a bad hygrometer get mentioned here its because it doesn't read enough RH but never the other way around

Digital hygrometers don't work at high RH, I would stick with yours.
One issue I had is the opposite of what you said most people have. There was condensation on my hygrometer sensor that would top it out at 98-100 after a bit in my SGFC.
Generally speaking, if you have a proper SGFC, I wouldn't worry about the hygrometer. Mist and fan and your cakes and fruits will tell you if your RH is good.

If you want to test to see how accurate your hygrometer is, wrap your hygrometer in a damp towel or paper towel for about an hour.  The reading you get from that is your 100%, I did that to mine and it turned out mine was about 8% off.
