Getting wasted and playing Skyrim is one of my favorite things to do too~ But you could always cut the booze and go...
Fishing(in Skyrim)
Pick up archery(in Skyrim)
Travel to a foreign land(in Skyrim)
Learn to sing(in Dragon tongue[in Skyrim])

The possibilities are endless! :datass:

Skyrim is the mid-evil version of The Sims.

League of Legends, or pick up the Malazan Book of the Fallen series by Steven Erikson. There are lots of people here who can attest to the greatest of both of those things.

I seriously recommend the Martial Arts. It's one of the best ways to get in shape mentally, physically, and spiritually in my book. Make sure you find a legitimate teacher though, the world (especially the U.S.) is lately plagued with places that I like to call "McDojos." They are basically blackbelt factories, they teach you a watered down version of the martial art and give you your blackbelt in some ridiculous amount of time, like two years or even less. All you get in exchange is an inflated ego and an empty wallet.

I've been doing Aikido since I was...fourteen I believe, it is very rewarding. Krav is pretty cool, but the thing is it's a lot like those other combat martial arts (MMA, Thai kick-boxing, ETC) they're an excellent way to get in shape, and you will kick ass while you are in your prime, but all of your skills won't count for everything as soon as you get old and weak. Aikido is very difficult, it's not super combat oriented, but chances are that if you get really good at it, you'll be in amazing shape and kicking muggers butts well into your 80's.

Distance running. Send me a message if you want to divulge in to the beautiful realm of endurance athletics.

Art, I create water color pieces that often take 8+ hours for each painting.

Music, I am learning the saxophone right now. A decent learners alto sax can run for $150-200 on craigslist or ebay.

If you own a car, don't ever pay a mechanic. Learn to fix it on your own with a repair manual-for your year/make/model/engine. Basic tools will be a prerequisite, message me and I could help compile a list. I rebuild car engines.

This is very accurate.  I took a form of (Japanese) ju jitsu for years that's very similar to aikido and my teacher was 65-ish and didn't like techniques that wouldn't work when you're 80 or didn't work between two parked cars, as he put it.  I'm in Krav now and agree this shit isn't going to work when I'm old and feeble like JJ/Aikido still will, but it's also a much shorter learning curve and will give you a good starting point for other arts.  My complete lack of striking/sparing ability was a hindrance in my JJ training, for instance.  I think I could go back into it now and progress faster than before.

I also agree on the 'McDojo' comment.  Most dojos are businesses first, martial arts schools 2nd.  The Karate/TKD school I tried would only let you test once every 2 months, you weren't allowed to skip belts, and  every test was $50.  Coming with previous experience it was frustrating and I gave up after a couple months.  Any real school will pay attention to how you perform and let you progress as fast as you're able to, instead of making you stick it out for X number of years to make sure they get their money.  As a comparison, one kid in my Krav class progressed to level 2 after only one month because he had previous experience w/ other arts and got up to speed quick.  From the looks of it he'll probably be in level 3 way quicker than average, as well.

Not meaning to turn this thread into a martial arts discussion but I agree that they are an excellent hobby on multiple levels (physical, mental, spiritual and social).

Oh yes, I love it. I hate to de-rail this thread as well but I just love the martial arts. My dad got me into it, he learned karate from one of Gichin Funakoshi's oldest students, Funakoshi was the founder of modern karate. Let's just say that after twenty five years of that, my father is a very scary man. Not mention he is a burly, deep voiced Scandinavian man with hands like iron baseball gloves.

The hardest part for me is not finding things to do its that no matter how much you do you cant keep busy 100% of the time and will always have to once again go home at the end of the day and sit at your house bored and alone with thoughts of getting high.  I love getting high at night the most when theres nothing to do and I know I can relax and drift away to sleep so realy no matter how many hobbies I have during the day Im still tortured by thoughts of it every night before bed.

derail away.  its cool i'm very interested in martial arts.  TBH only thig thats holding me back from it is myself.  I've been sat in smoking weed and snorting lines for so long it almost scary to go into the real world now :frown:

It really would be a massive boost in all areas for me to start lessons again.

I take it aikido has a similar philosophy to wing chun, in using your attackers force against them and that why it is useful for elderly people too?

Unfortunately it's one of those things you have to learn by doing.  You can read and watch UFC all day and it won't help.  It also really requires a teacher.  You could get a friend to read/watch stuff with you and practice techniques together and maybe learn some things, but you'll do more wrong than right and won't know it.  Ask around see if there's someone that has some proficiency in an art in your area and would be willing to teach you on the side.  It doesn't take a master to be a good teacher, and they might not be able to bring you up to black-belt level, but they might be able to get you started.

Sort of. The real principal of aikido is to protect your attacker and yourself, avoid violence, work with people instead of butting heads with them, etc. But the science of the actual techniques is to use an opponents force against them, yes.

This is totally true, you can't learn just by reading about it, but it does help to understand the philosophy, and what martial arts really means.
