Reliable, affordable vehicles?

So my current truck is getting pretty bad and I need to start looking for a new vehicle.
It has AWD which I like because the roads can get really bad during the wintertime. And seatwarmers.. also kickass for the wintertime. Neither of these are musts but they would be greatly welcomed.
Other than that, I just want a car/truck that gets decent gas mileage (I know it'll be better with car) but probably most important - something that doesn't require a lot of investments keeping it running. Fuck repairs! I've spent maybe a grand or more fixing up my truck in the last ~2 months, to find that it might all be a waste because it could potentially shit out at any second. I'm still making payments on it.. now it could die and I'll be left making payments on a dead car - and a new one
Anyway it's pretty depressing it's really quite the financial blow that I can't easily afford right now, but hey new cars are cool. Just looking for legit suggestions if anyone has any for their favorite reliable and affordable cars. Overall reliability is gonna be the most important thing if it's a newer car. I can't afford a brand new car but I'd like something with under 60k miles. Hoping more like 30-40 if I can find the right one.
The mechanic that worked on my truck most recently said Camry's are reliable, for whatever that's worth.
I always thought a ford fusion would be kinda cool. They have AWD too
I really liked my truck

If you really want AWD look into Subarus. They last a long time and are reliable.
Other than that, a Honda Civic would be a good choice, but if you want the reliability of the civic for less, go for the Honda Fit. You can fit a bicycle in the back of one of those, so it is kinda like a truck in that aspect.
Toyota Tacomas are reliable and nice, however they are expensive as they hold their value very well.

I have a Tacoma, it was expensive and it has held its value. I got my truck brand new for like 27 grand, its paid for now, and still worth at 15 grand in a private party sale. Edit I am not to thrilled about my gas millage though. I get about 20 miles to the gallon, cost me like 80 bucks a week to drive it.

I've bought three Nissan Sentras, great cars. Two for me and one for my wife. Cheap, reliable, easy to work on, great gas mileage.

I just bought a Subaru and love it and have heard they are quite reliable. Just research the head gasket problems with older Subaru's.

If I were to get another car right now I'd try to find a 2001 Civic w/ decent milage and a manual transmission. 40+ mpg highway and old enough to be cheap. After 2001 the mpg drops way down and it's a newer body style so will cost more. If you have a higher budget I'd 2nd the Fit recommendation. If I couldn't find either of those I'd go for the Sentra or Camry as a close 2nd.
I love Subaru's but question their long-term reliability. I know a lot of people swear by them, but by long-term I mean consistently getting >250k miles, not 100k and I don't think many people take their cars that high. My parents drive almost nothing but Subarus and take care of their cars but I don't think any of them have made it past 200k. That being said I wouldn't discourage a Suburu and if you're coming from an AWD truck it may be an easier step.
