other species roundup

after a lot of cubensis growing, and plenty of reading, i'm planning my next grow. i have only an indoors, and the UK is too cold most of the time for an outdoor guerilla grow. this is what i came up with - please comment / advise / correct any errors:
active non-cubes that can be grown:
psilocybe mexicana - indoors, also makes scerotia. not too difficult. ?potency psilocybe azurescens / cyanascens - outdoors only. difficult. indoor-outdoor claims unproven. v. potent. panaeolus subbalteanas - ?outdoors only. ?easy ?potency panaeolus cyanascens (= copelandia cyanascens) - can be done indoors. difficult. tiny but extremely potent. panaeolus tropicanas - as for pan. cyans?
is this accurate? have i missed out any obvious candidates? and are there any recommendations for an easy indoor start with the edibles? i plan to try the pan cyans out (and some oysters) and will begin compiling info as my mycelium grows. does anyone particularly advise against spawning into poo, rather than including it in a brf-based substrate?

You could try also Psilocybe tampanensis. It's similar to P. mexicana. Psilocybe azurescens & cyanescens are not so hard to grow outdoors. They're wood lovers and need low temperatures to fruit - so being in UK shouldn't be a problem. Since you were very successful with cubes I think you'll have no problems with pan cyans. Good luck!

hi there, tediumaddict. i get my spores from the free spore ring europe (send them a US dollar bill or a 1 euro coin on a bit of card, and a request in an envelope to holland, and include an envelope addressed back to your delivery address, and bob's your uncle) : visit this and other rings at http://www.fsre.org/fsrportal.htm and remember to send prints back afterwards. or in London, you can buy them over the counter, as prints or syringes, in some headshops. or go to the trading forum here at the shroomery, and ask. *bump* my question - any advice on a next species?

Panaeolus subbalteatus can be found from South America all the way into Canada. They have the widest range of any active species.
They refuse to not grow.

I don't know that much about them Shirley but on a google search it said they were roughly the same potency as p. cubensis by dried weight.

For indoors go with the Panaeolus cyanascens. As you did straw/poo tecs with cubensis you should be fine with pan cyans :-) I have spawned some to fermentedpoo/straw and all seems to be going well.
Casing in the week, and fruiting (with fingers crossed) the next week ;-)
