Just let em colonize longer, and wait till you come back from your leave of absence, to birth them, it would be a real bummer if you messed something up and hard to start over, or you can have a friend or family member fan and mist for you while u are gone!. Mayke sure you can trust them though

You could put the (partially) colonized jars into the fridge to halt any development. When you come back, you can let the jars zolonize completely or birth them. Don't birth them immediately though, put them in the incubater for 24hrs first, to 'revive' the mycelium.

Another method for light and heat management is using a simple house hold timer to run your heating pad and lights.

I did this and it worked fine, infact its more reliable than any human including myself.

Stuff rarely freezes if you put it in the door.
