Should you cover your trays while they colonize?

With what?

I thought sterilized burlap might be cool, since the myc would just grow up through it.

just do whatever the teks say, thers a ton of em. read the whole thing all the way from top to bottom.

Basically wax paper and aluminum foil - had bad luck with wax waper contaming in the past.

I had that question when I first started using trays. This is what I do now. Once the substrate in the tray is covered, I place the casing layer on top. Don't wait too long though, as soon as you don't see any uncolonized parts, put the casing on top.

I don't like using wax paper or foil, it just causes too much still air that can be bad, especially because of contams. Using a case layer works just as well!
