It's funny that the most abundant and most efficient source of energy (methylated hydrocarbons) are sitting at the bottom of the ocean and we just don't know how to use it, yet.

Hmmmmm.. forgot about this thread. Well, now that it's bumped up, if anyone's interested, I asked around and someone told me the article (refered to above) was published in Nature; it would have been about 6 months ago or something. It's not on their website, though, and I don't get that journal. Anyone????
